A comparison of model performance between ENVI-met and Austal2000 for particulate matter

Atmospheric Environment, 2016
This study evaluates the performance of the German dispersion model Austal2000 according to the technical instructions on air quality control (TA Luft), a Lagrangian model, in four real-world particulate matter test cases against ENVI-met, a microclimate model featuring a pollutant dispersion module that bases on the Eularian approach.

Urban Microclimate in Street Canyons with Façade PV Using ENVI-met

2019
Cities have huge potential for PV applications, namely in the façades of buildings that feature high available surface area. Since PV modules convert part of the incoming solar radiation into electricity, lower amounts of heat are expected to be released from the buildings into the street.

Study of the urban heat island in Lecce (Italy) by means of ADMS and ENVI-MET

International Journal of Environment and Pollution, 2014
The urban heat island (UHI) phenomenon may produce several cascade effects on citizens’ health, energy consumption and air quality. Numerical modelling is recognised to be a powerful tool for the analysis of the UHI, although the question of which model to use (as implied in the ‘fit-for-purpose’ approach) much depends on the application and on the ...

Simulating the seasonality of a tropical urban park on ENVI-met

This presentation was delivered at the 23rd International Congress of Biometeorology (ICB 2023) on May 14-17, 2023, in Tempe, Arizona, USA.Rapid urban development and climate change has resulted in urban overheating in many cities across the world. Singapore, a tropical city-state in Southeast Asia, is no exception to this phenomena.

Evaluating the performance of ENVI-met model in diurnal cycles for different meteorological conditions

Theoretical and Applied Climatology, 2016
Urban areas are known to modify meteorological variables producing important differences in small spatial scales (i.e. microscale). These affect human thermal comfort conditions and the dispersion of pollutants, especially those emitted inside the urban area, which finally influence quality of life and the use of public open spaces.
