Interdiffusion kinetics of yttria and alumina
Abstract The interdiffusion kinetics of yttria‐alumina diffusion couples produced by spark plasma sintering (SPS) were investigated at 1350°C, 1425°C, and 1500°C. The SPS diffusion couples were heat‐treated in air at their sintering temperatures for 0, 24, and 96 h.

CMAS-induced corrosion behavior of high-entropy rare-earth disilicate at 1500 °C
High-entropy rare earth silicates have emerged as promising environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) materials for aircraft engines due to their superior corrosion resistance against calcium–magnesium–aluminum–silicate (CMAS).

Eu3+ as a structural probe in yttrium silicates through photoluminescence emission spectra
Abstract This work presents the first steps in using Eu3+ as a structural probe using photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra. The sol–gel synthesis of four Eu3+‐doped powders encompassing seven phases of the yttrium silicate phase system is detailed.

Buildings consume 30%–40% of global energy while simultaneously exposing occupants to poor indoor air quality (IAQ) that impairs health and cognition. This study addresses the challenge of achieving simultaneous energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and healthy indoor environments through intelligent building control.

Development of thermally sprayed environmental barrier coatings [PDF]
Ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) are candidate materials for high-temperature applications such as gas turbines. As corrosion by water vapor and deposits is a limiting issue, the application of suitable environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) is inevitable.
