Environmental degradation of polypropylene

Polymer Degradation and Stability, 1988
Abstract The environmental degradation of a polypropylene film was studied up to 2424 h of exposure. A continuous reduction of the mechanical properties studied begins after about 700 h. The crystallinity changes irregularly and the thermal oxidation strength decays in the initial stages.

Inequality as a cause of environmental degradation [PDF]

open access: possibleEcological Economics, 1994
Abstract This paper advances two hypotheses. First, the extent of an environmentally degrading economic activity is a function of the balance of power between the winners, who derive net benefits from the activity, and the losers, who bear net costs.

Environmental Degradation

2010
Abstract This chapter describes the conditions under which environmental degradation is likely to occur in polymer matrix composites and the potential damage it can cause. It discusses the problems associated with moisture absorption and exposure to solvents, fuels, ultraviolet radiation, lightning strikes, thermal oxidation, and extreme

Food production and environmental degradation

2019
Despite its considerable environmental impact, food production has not been regarded seriously as a cause of environmental degradation. This paper examines the impact of food production on the environment and discusses some of the known methods for limiting detrimental effects of cropping.

Environmental Degradation and Migration

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2012
The argument that environmental degradation is an important driving force of migration has experienced a strong revival in the climate change context. While various studies predict large environmental migration flows due to climate change and other environmental stressors, the ex post empirical evidence for such migration is very patchy at best.

The nature of environmental problems and environmental degradation

International Journal of Business Excellence, 2011
A basic characteristic of environmental problems is that they are cross-disciplinary and it is this characteristic that so often makes them difficult to solve. This paper reflects an increasingly holistic perspective of environmental literature in the last few decades.
