Environmental degradation of polypropylene
Polymer Degradation and Stability, 1988Abstract The environmental degradation of a polypropylene film was studied up to 2424 h of exposure. A continuous reduction of the mechanical properties studied begins after about 700 h. The crystallinity changes irregularly and the thermal oxidation strength decays in the initial stages.

Environmental Degradation and Environmental Threats in China
Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2004The article presents a review of environmental degradation and its threats in China. Air pollution, water pollution, deforestation, soil degradation, sand depositing in dams, decaying urban infrastructure, and more and more hazards such as floods, landslides and soil erosion are major consequences of environmental degradation and are making tremendous ...

Abstract This chapter describes the conditions under which environmental degradation is likely to occur in polymer matrix composites and the potential damage it can cause. It discusses the problems associated with moisture absorption and exposure to solvents, fuels, ultraviolet radiation, lightning strikes, thermal oxidation, and extreme

Food production and environmental degradation
2019Despite its considerable environmental impact, food production has not been regarded seriously as a cause of environmental degradation. This paper examines the impact of food production on the environment and discusses some of the known methods for limiting detrimental effects of cropping.

Environmental Degradation of Polyethylene
2004The environmental degradation of polyethylene proceeds by synergistic action of photo- and thermo-oxidative degradation and biological activity. Since biodegradation of commercial high molecular weight polyethylene proceeds slowly, abiotic oxidation is the initial and rate-determining step.

Environmental Degradation in China
Asian Survey, 1980DURING THE 1970s, popular reporting, numerous China travelogues, and, unfortunately, not a few papers in scholarly journals have created a two-fold impression of the Chinese environment in North American minds. One was of pre-1949 China-dirty and desolate, with barren hills and spreading deforestation, poor farming practices, low crop yields and ...
