The Mathematics of Evolution: The Price Equation, Natural Selection, and Environmental Change [PDF]
George Price introduced his famous equation to study selective and environmental effects in discrete populations. We extend Price's framework to the measurable and quantum cases, decomposing all evolutionary processes into selective and environmental components.

Scaling laws in global corporations as a benchmarking approach to assess environmental performance [PDF]
The largest 6,529 international corporations are accountable for almost 30% of global CO2e emissions. A growing awareness of the role of the corporate world in the path toward sustainability has led many shareholders and stakeholders to pursue increasingly stringent and ambitious environmental goals.

Protection of Plant Biodiversity in the Light of International Law [PDF]
Plants are an integral part of the living organism of nature. Protection of plant biodiversity is essential to ensure the health of ecosystems. The natural world is characterised by cyclical and mutually complementary processes.

Revisiting d2-law for the evaporation of dilute droplets [PDF]
In a wide range of applications, the estimate of droplet evaporation time is based on the classical d2-law, which, assuming a fast mixing and fixed environmental properties, states that the droplet surface decreases linearly with time at a determined rate. However, in many cases the predicted evaporation rate is overestimated.

The critical properties of the agent-based model with environmental-economic interactions [PDF]
The steady-state and nonequilibrium properties of the model of environmental-economic interactions are studied. The interacting heterogeneous agents are simulated on the platform of the emission dynamics of cellular automaton. The model possess the discontinuous transition between the safe and catastrophic ecology. Right at the critical line, the broad-

The intricacies and challenges of ensuring safe and healthy mining environments in South Africa [PDF]
In South Africa, during the apartheid era, the mining sector had records of extremely high injuries and occupational diseases that led to massive death of mine workers who were predominantly Blacks. In the post-apartheid era, measures such as monitoring,
