Single‐Atom Pt Anchoring on Self‐Doped ZrO2@G‐C3N4 Nanostructure Enables Efficient Photocatalytic Seawater Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Grain‐like Zr3+‐ZrO2 and Pt single atoms are integrated into an S‐scheme Zr3+‐ZrO2@g‐C3N4 heterostructure to enable efficient visible‐light‐driven seawater hydrogen production. The combined effect of Pt single‐atom sites and the S‐scheme charge‐transfer pathway accelerates carrier separation, preserves strong redox ability, and markedly enhances ...

Environmental Tax Interactions When Pollution Affects Health or Productivity [PDF]

open access: yes
Numerous recent studies have indicated that interactions with a tax-distorted labor market increase the cost of pollution regulation. However, these studies have made restrictive assumptions regarding individual preferences and have ignored key links ...

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...

Choosing policy instruments for pollution control : a review [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper presents the design of cost effective interventions to protect the environment from excessive pollution in developing countries. The concept of intervention is motivated by the typical explanation for environmental problems in economic theory--

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Pollution Abatement in a Model of Capital Accumulation and Endogenous Longevity [PDF]

open access: yes
The effort to reduce pollution entails economic benefits because improved environmental quality advances the health status of the population and reduces mortality.

Polar Lattice‐Distorted Motifs Enable Synergy of Local Polarization/Dipole Fields for Concurrent Glyphosate Wastewater Remediation and CO Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photocatalytic treatment of glyphosate herbicide in agricultural wastewater is achieved through the cooperative effect of the local polarization field and dipole field mediated by lattice‐distorted carbon nitride. Glyphosate is completely degraded via selective C─P bond cleavage with a CO evolution rate of 1166 µmol g−1 h−1.

Effects of Environmental Regulation on Economic Activity and Pollution in Commercial Agriculture

open access: yes
Research on environmental regulation’s effects on economic activity has largely focused on manufacturing, ignoring one of the major polluters in the U.S. – commercial agriculture.
