Sensitivity Analysis of CO2 Emitted in Clinker and Cement Production

open access: yesComputation
This study performs a sensitivity analysis of CO2 emissions from clinker and cement production using life cycle assessment (LCA). Both local and global sensitivity analyses (LSA and GSA) are conducted. LSA uses outputs from the GCCA EPD tool—developed by

Preliminary study documents variable accuracy and inclusion among biology instructor gender/sex definitions

open access: yesNatural Sciences Education, Volume 55, Issue 2, December 2026.
Abstract Society generally presents sex inaccurately as a binary variable based on one or few trait(s), causing myriad issues, including the pursuit of reductionist biology experiments, the creation of laws that limit the rights of women, people with queer genders, and intersex folks, and greater student endorsement of gender stereotypes in ...

Additive Bayesian network analysis of social determinants of health and adverse pregnancy outcomes

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 2, Issue 5, September 2026.
Abstract Introduction Adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) disproportionately affect non‐Hispanic Black individuals compared with non‐Hispanic White individuals. Race and ethnicity are social constructs that reflect structural inequities, and social determinants of health (SDoH) are also associated with APOs.

Assessing the energy demand, carbon footprint and other environmental impacts from mass timber production: a critical review and meta-analysis

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Communications
Mass timber products such as Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) and Glued Laminated Timber (GLT) are increasingly positioned as low-carbon alternatives to concrete and steel in building construction.

The Consequential Climate Impact of Bioenergy and Wood Products: A New Framework for the Assessment of Biogenic Carbon

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 9, September 2026.
This work proposes a new framework for the assessment of biogenic carbon and calculates new emission factors based on full forest carbon dynamics, with harvest intensity showing a clear effect on the emission factors. Temporal dynamics as well as short‐ and long‐term impacts highlight the importance of considering time in the assessment of biogenic CO2.

Comparative Analysis of Ion and Electron Contributions to Ionospheric Ionization at Auroral and Subauroral Latitudes

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 16, 28 August 2026.
Abstract Electron and proton precipitation into the nightside ionosphere is a key process in magnetosphere–ionosphere coupling. Although auroral electron precipitation at ∼0.1 ${\sim} 0.1$–10 keV is traditionally considered the main driver of auroral emissions, recent studies show that >30 ${ >} 30$ keV electrons and protons can significantly ...

A Review of Mechanical Reinforcement and Piezoresistive Self‐Sensing in Carbon Nanotube Fiber Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 16, Page 14313-14338, 20 August 2026.
PSPP‐TRL mapping of CNT‐modified CFRP literature, with four recurring confusions resolved and five scale‐up problems quantified. ABSTRACT Carbon nanotube‐modified fiber composites are often presented as a route to stronger, tougher, and self‐sensing structural materials.
