Environmentally Assisted Cracking of Magnesium Alloys [PDF]
The propensity of the magnesium alloys AM30 and AZ91 to environmentally assisted cracking, and in particular to hydrogen embrittlement, was assessed in constant extension rate tensile tests on smooth and pre-cracked specimens which were subjected to monotonic loading in corrosive environment.

ENVIRONMENTALLY-ASSISTED CRACKING OF ENGINEERING MATERIALS - AN INSIGHT
This paper reviews the environmentally-assisted-cracking studies of some of the key engineering materials i.e. austenitic stainless steels, aluminium alloys and magnesium alloys. Some of the salient work carried out by the research laboratories and institutions in India and other countries, in this critical research area, are brought out in this paper.

Environmentally assisted cracking on titanium alloys [PDF]
Titanium alloys have been widely used as the structural components in gas turbine engines for aerospace applications, owing to the combined benefits of the high specific strength, good corrosion resistance and excellent fatigue properties at the temperature range 300-600 °C. Failure associated with AgCl-induced HSSCC was firstly identified in 1966, on

A multiscale constitutive model for intergranular stress corrosion cracking in type 304 austenitic stainless steel [PDF]
Intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) is a fracture mechanism in sensitised austenitic stainless steels exposed to critical environments where the intergranular cracks extends along the network of connected susceptible grain boundaries.

The role of nano-sized intergranular phases on nickel alloy 725 brittle failure
Although precipitation-hardened nickel alloys, such as Alloy 725, are extensively used in the most aggressive oil and gas production conditions given their a priori superior environmentally assisted cracking resistance, recent failures associated with ...
