Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Effects of TmTak1 silencing on AMP production as an Imd pathway component in Tenebrio molitor
Mealworms beetles, Tenebrio molitor, are the limelight next-generation food for humans due to their high nutrient contents. Since Tenebrio molitor is used as feed for pets and livestock in addition to their ability to decompose polystyrene and plastic ...

Organic food production: lessons learnt and looming prospects [PDF]
Organic food, which is grown without man-made pesticides and fertilisers, is generally assumed to be more environmentally friendly than conventional intensive farming, which is heavily reliant on chemical inputs.

core
The presented study focuses on the fracture behaviour of carbon‐bonded magnesia MgO–C refractories, where environmentally friendly fructose, collagen and lignin serve as temporary binding agents. The partial substitution of the source material with recycled MgO–C reduces the fracture resistance, which can be counteracted by the additional introduction ...

An Ultrafast Lithium-ion Battery with Long-term Cycling Performance Based on Hard Carbon
In this work, we construct lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) with capacitive-level cycling performance and ultrafast charge/discharge via electrode engineering. Two typical battery-type materials are used, namely, LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2 as the cathode material and

Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.

ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 nanocomposite heterojunction for photocatalytic decomposition of this methylene blue dye (MB) greatly improves light absorption, charge separation, and active site area. Two‐dimensional MXene forms nanocomposites by easily combining them with 0D (quantum dots), 1D (tube and wire), 2D (plane and sheet), and 3D (particle and lamellar ...

The formation of nonmetallic inclusions (NMIs) was investigated in this study, carrying out immersion tests for 30 min at a temperature of 1600°C with liquid high‐silicon electrical steel (Si ≈ 3 mass‐%) and different MgO–C refractories. Conventional MgO–C refractories were considered, as well as MgO–C refractories containing MgO–C recyclate and ...
