Spin‐Polarized Interfaces Redirect CO2 Reduction From CO to Formate

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The chiral electrocatalyst exploits the CISS effect to establish a spin‐polarized interface that selectively promotes formate production during CO2 reduction while effectively suppressing the competing hydrogen evolution. ABSTRACT Achieving high product selectivity in electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction (CO2RR) remains a critical challenge due to

Distributions of Direct, Reflected, and Diffuse Irradiance for Ocular UV Exposure at Different Solar Elevation Angles.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
To analyze intensities of ocular exposure to direct (Eo,dir), reflected (Eo,refl), and diffuse (Eo,diff) ultraviolet (UV) irradiance at different solar elevation angles (SEAs), a rotating manikin and dual-detector spectrometer were used to monitor the ...

Atomically Dispersed Mo–S Sites Boost NiFe–Layered Double Hydroxide for Industrial‐Level Seawater Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
(Mo–S)1@NiFe–LDH promotes the rapid structural transition to the active oxyhydroxide phase, enabling selective seawater oxidation at industrial‐level current densities. Atomically dispersed Mo–S sites within the LDH lattice efficaciously modulate the structural flexibility to lower the thermodynamic barrier for early‐phase activation.

Selective Degradation of Polyurethanes in Mixed Plastic Wastes via Ir‐Catalyzed Hydrogenolysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The selective degradation of polyurethanes in mixed plastic wastes with polyesters and polyamides was achieved using H2 as a reactant, enabling simultaneous recovery of diformamides and polyols arising from polyurethanes and separation of polyesters and polyamides without any degradation.

Selenocyanate Driven Organic Cations Homogenization in Wide‐Bandgap Perovskite

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Selenocyanate pseudohalide doping stabilizes 1.66 eV wide‐bandgap formamidinium (FA)‐based perovskite lattices via strong FA+ hydrogen bonding and matched ionic radii. Uniform cation distribution and suppressed ion migration reduces defect losses, delivering >24% single‐junction efficiency and 32.66% perovskite/silicon tandem performance with ...

Synthesis of Six Natural Products Enabled by Selective Hydroxylation of Orcinaldehyde‐Like Substrates With an Enzyme Library

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Achieving selective (sp3)C–H hydroxylation can streamline the synthesis of complex organic molecules. Biocatalysis presents an opportunity to realize this transformation, however, identifying useful enzymes that enable synthetic strategies can be a challenge due to limitations in enzyme substrate scope.

Object Grouping in Eos.

open access: yes, 1992
Eos is an environment for building distributed object-based systems. Leos, the language for Eos, provides transparency for distribution and persistence. In this paper, we address the problem of declustering the object graph into a number of nodes and of locally clustering objects within pages with minimal impact on the programming process. We propose a

Automated generative process synthesis via transformer‐based dual‐loop simulation and optimization

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This study presents a novel framework for automated generative process synthesis, addressing the complexity of simultaneously optimizing discrete topologies and continuous operating variables. To overcome conventional superstructure limitations, we propose a dual‐loop architecture integrating generative transformers with rigorous process ...
