Pulmonary Eosinophilic Granuloma

SUMMARY 1.Six cases of proved eosinophilic granuloma of the lungs are reported, including follow-ups of eight years and six years on two of them. Twenty-three additional cases from the literature are reviewed. 2.Pulmonary function studies showed the only consistent abnormality to be overdistention of the lungs.

A 22-year-old black male presented with progressive dyspnea, a nonproductive cough, and new skin lesions. He was severely hypoxic, and had a severe restrictive defect on pulmonary function testing. A 2-cm lytic defect was noted on skull radiographs. A lung biopsy demonstrated pulmonary fibrosis. A biopsy of a skin lesion was consistent with a diagnosis

Abstract. A case of Eosinophilic Granuloma of the vulva, associated with Diabetes Insipidus, is presented.There is neither specific nor adequate treatment for the vulval lesions. Treatment with local steroids should first be tried, if this does not help Roentgen‐ray irradiation should be given. Simple vulvectomy is a last resort with poor results.
