Influence of Viscosity Ratio on the Mechanical, Morphological, and Rheological Properties of Thermoplastic Dynamic Vulcanizates from Devulcanized Tire Rubber and Polypropylene

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study explores how polypropylene viscosity influences the structure and performance of thermoplastic dynamic vulcanizates made with devulcanized tire rubber. Higher matrix viscosity results in better dispersion of the rubber phase, forming smaller domains and enhancing mechanical properties. The findings support more efficient recycling strategies

Development of High‐Performance Ablative Composites: Synergistic Effects of Alumina Particles and Silica Fabric in the Polybenzoxazine Matrix

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
The illustration depicts the improvement in the mechanical and ablative properties of polybenzoxazine composites according to their alumina particle content. ABSTRACT The aerospace industry is seeking a replacement of toxic phenolics to use in ablative materials. One of the most promising candidates is polybenzoxazine materials because of their extreme

Precision in Rubber Seal Lifetime Prediction: The Critical Role of Aspect Ratio

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
This study examines how specimen geometry affects rubber seal aging predictions. We examine NBR and EPDM samples with varying aspect ratios (AR) under thermo‐oxidative conditions. Analysis includes indentation modulus, hardness, crosslink density, and calorimetric analyses. Results reveal how aspect ratio influences aging behavior.

Selection of elastomeric membranes for the removal of volatile organics from water [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A wide range of homogeneous elastomeric membranes has been prepared using dicumylperoxide as a general cross-linking agent. The membranes have been used for both equilibrium sorption measurements and steady-state pervaporation experiments to study ...

Preparation of natural rubber (NR)/ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM) blends by radiation crosslinking and its heat resistance to air aging

open access: yesFushe yanjiu yu fushe gongyi xuebao
To improve the compatibility of natural rubber (NR) and ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM) and enhance the resistance of NR/EPDM blends to hot air aging, radiation-vulcanized NR/EPDM blends were prepared by γ-ray radiation.

Influência do Sistema de Vulcanização nas Propriedades da Mistura NBR/EPDM The Influence of the Vulcanizing System on Curing, Mechanical and Ageing Properties of NBR/EPDM Blends
