In vitro biocompatibility of EPM and EPDM rubbers
The in vitro toxicity of two EPDM rubbers (K 778 and K 4802) and one EPM rubber (K 740) was tested using human fibroblasts. The modulus of elasticity of each rubber was varied by exposure to different amounts of electron-beam radiation (0, 5 and 10 Mrad). The short-term in vitro toxicity was tested by culturing cells on polymer films.

CHEMO-MECHANICAL MODEL FOR PREDICTING THE LIFETIME OF EPDM RUBBERS [PDF]
ABSTRACT A chemo-mechanical model has been developed for predicting the long-term mechanical behavior of EPDM rubbers in a harsh thermal oxidative environment. Schematically, this model is composed of two complementary levels: The “chemical level” calculates the degradation kinetics of the macromolecular network that is introduced into the ...

Dependence of Adhesion Properties on Blend Ratio of Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Rubber/Standard Malaysian Rubber Blend Adhesive [PDF]
Viscosity, tack and, peel and shear strengths of ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM)/standard Malaysian rubber (SMR L) blend adhesive were studied using various blend ratios of the two rubbers, ranging from 0 to 100% EPDM.

A review on the Mullins effect [PDF]
The Mullins’ effect remains a major challenge in order to provide good mechanical modeling of the complex behavior of industrial rubber materials. It’s been forty years since Mullins [1] wrote his review on the phenomenon and still no general agreement ...
