Effect of the Compatibilizer Upon the Properties of Styrene-butadiene Rubber Organoclay Nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و تکنولوژی پلیمر, 2013
Nanocomposite vulcunizates based on styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), organoclay and a conventional sulfur curing system were prepared by melt blending process in an internal mixer. In order to study the effects of the type of interfacial compatibilizer on

Influence of Viscosity Ratio on the Mechanical, Morphological, and Rheological Properties of Thermoplastic Dynamic Vulcanizates from Devulcanized Tire Rubber and Polypropylene

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 310, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study explores how polypropylene viscosity influences the structure and performance of thermoplastic dynamic vulcanizates made with devulcanized tire rubber. Higher matrix viscosity results in better dispersion of the rubber phase, forming smaller domains and enhancing mechanical properties. The findings support more efficient recycling strategies

Investigation on viscoelastic behavior of virgin EPDM/ reclaimed rubber blends using Generalized Maxwell Model (GMM)

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2021
The reclaiming process of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) using a twin-screw extruder was studied and the effect of reclaiming conditions including screw speed (40, 80 and 120 rpm) and reclaiming agent content (0, 1.5 and 3 phr) at 280 °C (barrel

Precision in Rubber Seal Lifetime Prediction: The Critical Role of Aspect Ratio

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, Volume 65, Issue 12, Page 6781-6797, December 2025.
This study examines how specimen geometry affects rubber seal aging predictions. We examine NBR and EPDM samples with varying aspect ratios (AR) under thermo‐oxidative conditions. Analysis includes indentation modulus, hardness, crosslink density, and calorimetric analyses. Results reveal how aspect ratio influences aging behavior.

Burning “ExposHome”: Deriving a Mixture of Combustible Materials in American Homes at the Wildland‐Urban Interface for Health Studies

open access: yesGeoHealth, Volume 9, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Approximately 39% of U.S. homes are now located in the Wildland‐Urban Interface (WUI) and are at elevated risk of burning during wildfires. WUI fires emit a cocktail of chemicals from the combustion of anthropogenic materials, including compounds that may differ from the burning of biogenic‐only materials.

Impact of Lubricant on Charge Dynamics at Macroscopic Interfaces in HVDC Cable Joints

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 6, Page 1426-1436, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Charge dynamics at interfaces in high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable joints consisting of cable, joint insulation and lubricant may have an impact on the overall joint reliability. Although interactions between different lubricants and the joint insulation have been studied in recent years, the effect of lubricant diffusion on the ...
