Since the isolation of pure ephedrine by Nagai in 1887,1several clinical observations have been made with regard to its mydriatic action. Thus Miura2in the same year reported that a 6 to 7 per cent solution of ephedrine hydrochloride produces mydriasis in most people in from forty to sixty minutes.

I describe a case of an ephedrine kidney stone in a patient chronically abusing ephedrine products. CASE REPORT A 24-year-old man presented with left abdominal pain radiating into the groin, hematuria and nausea.
