A Zero-Shot Learning Approach for Ephemeral Gully Detection from Remote Sensing using Vision Language Models

2025 IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision Workshops (WACVW)
Ephemeral gullies are a primary cause of soil erosion and their reliable, accurate, and early detection will facilitate significant improvements in the sustainability of global agricultural systems.

Weakly Supervised Ephemeral Gully Detection In Remote Sensing Images Using Vision Language Models

arXiv.org
Among soil erosion problems, Ephemeral Gullies are one of the most concerning phenomena occurring in agricultural fields. Their short temporal cycles increase the difficulty in automatically detecting them using classical computer vision approaches and ...

Enhanced Ephemeral Gully Erosion Science within AnnAGNPS

Concentrated runoff increases erosion and moves fine sediment and associated agrichemicals from upland areas to stream channels. Ephemeral gully erosion on croplands in the U.S. may contribute more of the sediment delivered to the edge of the field then from sheet and rill erosion.
