The Selection of Ground Stations for IGS Products [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2007
The selection of ground stations is one of the essential process of IGS (International GNSS Service) products. High quality GPS data should be collected from the globally distributed ground stations.

Radiation Belt Electron Acceleration Inside the Plasmasphere

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 4, 28 February 2025.
Abstract We report a new population of outer belt electron acceleration events ranging from hundreds of keV to ∼1.5 MeV that occurred inside the plasmasphere, which we named “Inside Events” (IEs). Based on 6 year observations from Van Allen Probes, we compare the statistical distributions of IEs with electron acceleration events outside the ...

An Experiment on Radio Location of Objects in the Near-Earth Space with VLBI in 2012

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2013
An experiment on radar location of space debris objects using of the method of VLBI was carried out in April, 2012. The radar VLBI experiment consisted in irradiation of some space debris objects (4 rocket stages and 5 inactive satellites) with a signal ...

Period, epoch and prediction errors of ephemeris from continuous sets of timing measurements

open access: yes, 2015
Space missions such as Kepler and CoRoT have led to large numbers of eclipse or transit measurements in nearly continuous time series. This paper shows how to obtain the period error in such measurements from a basic linear least-squares fit, and how to ...

WASP-South detection of HD219666b transits provides an accurate ephemeris [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The hot-Neptune HD219666b (= TOI-118.01) was an early discovery from Sector 1 of the TESS transit survey. Being a rare "Neptune desert" planet, and transiting a bright, V = 9.9 star, it is a prime target for further study including atmospheric characterisation. Targeting exoplanet transits with major facilities such as HST and the imminent JWST depends

Radiation‐Belt Dropouts: Relationship With Geomagnetic Storms and MeV Precipitation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 4, 28 February 2025.
Abstract To better understand rapid radiation belt losses, this statistical study examines dropouts, defined as a phase‐space density (PSD) decrease by a factor of ≥5 ${\ge} 5$ within 8 hr. The relationship between dropouts, storm parameters, solar‐wind drivers, geomagnetic indices, and MeV electron precipitation is analyzed.

First Results of the VLBI Experiment on Radar Location of the Asteroid 2012 DA14

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2013
An international VLBI experiment on radio location of the asteroid 2012 DA14 was organized on 2013 February 15–16, during its flyby close to Earth. The purpose of observations was to investigate and specify orbital parameters of the asteroid, as well as ...

The effect of timing noise on targeted and narrow-band coherent searches for continuous gravitational waves from pulsars

open access: yes, 2015
Most searches for continuous gravitational-waves from pulsars use Taylor expansions in the phase to model the spin-down of neutron stars. Studies of pulsars demonstrate that their electromagnetic (EM) emissions suffer from \emph{timing noise}, small ...
