Comprehensive Comparisons of Satellite Data, Signals, and Measurements between the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System and the Global Positioning System

open access: yesSensors, 2016
The Chinese BeiDou navigation satellite system (BDS) aims to provide global positioning service by 2020. The combined use of BDS and Global Positioning System (GPS) is proposed to provide navigation service with more stringent requirements.

Combining Van Allen Probes and CubeSat Observations to Estimate Storm‐Time Maximum Outer Radiation Belt Electron Fluxes

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Understanding and forecasting extreme radiation belt electron fluxes has been a major goal in space weather since their discovery in 1958. In this study, by combining electron flux data from multiple satellite missions in different orbits, including Van Allen Probes, Electron Losses and Fields Investigation, and Colorado Inner Radiation Belt ...

Uncertainties in Historic Visual Double Star Measures—III Accurate Calibration Pairs

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, Volume 346, Issue 10, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Based on space‐based positions and proper motions, we present accurate rectilinear elements for 857 double star pairs over the celestial sphere. These elements allow for the computation of precision ephemeris Position Angles and Separations of these pairs.

The Open Service Signal in Space Navigation Data Comparison of the Global Positioning System and the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System

open access: yesSensors, 2014
More and more Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSSs) have been developed and are in operation. Before integrating information on various GNSSs, the differences between the various systems must be studied first. This research focuses on analyzing the

Flight Altitude of Common Cranes (Grus grus) Crossing the Arkona Basin (Baltic Sea): Implications for Offshore Wind Farm Development

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
Study comprises the first field study of the flight altitude of the common crane (Grus grus) during seasonal migrations across the Baltic Sea. Our investigations clearly indicate that despite weather‐induced variations in the flight altitude, the majority of cranes will cross the Baltic Sea at altitudes between 50 and 250 m.

Jupiter's X‐ray Aurorae. A High Signal Spectral Analysis of the 0.24–1.40 keV Energy Range

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Jupiter's X‐ray auroras are predominantly produced by precipitating energetic heavy ions. Recent results suggest a connection between the pulsation rate of these ion aurorae and the pulsation rate of magnetospheric waves. Using remote X‐ray observations and results from in situ measurements from the Juno Jupiter Energetic particle Detector ...

The Correlation Function for Magnetic Field Fluctuations at Ion Dissipation Scales in the Solar Wind

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract This study investigates energy dissipation in small‐scale solar wind turbulence using a novel approach to autocorrelation function analysis leveraging high‐resolution data from the Magnetospheric Multiscale Mission (MMS). We analyze magnetic field fluctuations at ion dissipation scales, focusing on short 20‐s intervals to isolate dissipation ...
