Protistan epibionts of the ctenophore Mnemiopsis mccradyi Mayer

Hydrobiologia, 2001
Mnemiopsis mccradyi, a common coastal ctenophore, was observed to bear two distinct, exclusive assemblages of protistan epibionts. The mobiline peritrich, Trichodina ctenophorii (Estes et al., 1997), and small Flabellula-like gymnamoebae inhabited only the surface of the comb plates.

Controlling Epibiont Pests

This project is the second phase of understanding stalked ciliates on their impact on bivalves. The first phase (FRG-2022-07) identified the types of stalked ciliates as primarily Suctorian spp. In the second phase, we wanted to explore methods of mitigation to determine if there is a more effective treatment for ridding these infestations and also ...

Epibiont communities on mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber

Palaeoentomology
The mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber was extensively colonized by marine epibiont communities, including pholadids, corals, oysters, and serpulids. In this study, we report a diverse array of marine organisms that adhered to the amber, forming epibiont communities.

AN ANNOTATED CHECKLIST OF EPIBIONT CILIATE _ Zoothamnium

2021
A checklist of one of the epibionts ciliates of the genus Zoothamnium with all relevant information has been prepared by consulting the available literatures on Zoothamnium of all continents. This checklist will be helpful for further research in this area. This check list contains 57 species of Zoothamnium.
