Protistan epibionts of the ctenophore Mnemiopsis mccradyi Mayer
Hydrobiologia, 2001Mnemiopsis mccradyi, a common coastal ctenophore, was observed to bear two distinct, exclusive assemblages of protistan epibionts. The mobiline peritrich, Trichodina ctenophorii (Estes et al., 1997), and small Flabellula-like gymnamoebae inhabited only the surface of the comb plates.

Epibiont communities on mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber
PalaeoentomologyThe mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber was extensively colonized by marine epibiont communities, including pholadids, corals, oysters, and serpulids. In this study, we report a diverse array of marine organisms that adhered to the amber, forming epibiont communities.
