Dose calibration of EPIDs for segmented IMRT dosimetry [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, 2014
The purpose of this study was to investigate the dose response of amorphous silicon (a‐Si) electronic portal imaging devices (EPIDs) under different acquisition settings for both open jaw defined fields and segmented intensity‐modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) fields. Four different EPIDs were used.

EPID – a useful interfraction QC tool

open access: yesPolish Journal of Medical Physics and Engineering, 2019
Abstract Biomedical accelerators used in radiotherapy are equipped with detector arrays which are commonly used to obtain the image of patient position during the treatment session. These devices use both kilovolt and megavolt x-ray beams.

Carrion ecology: concepts, interdisciplinary synthesis, and perspectives

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Carrion is a ubiquitous resource in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, yet it has long been overlooked in ecological research. Over the past two decades, studies on carrion and the many organisms that exploit it have flourished, revealing not only wide‐ranging ecological functions but also significance far beyond ecology.

Super-resolution imaging in a multiple layer EPID [PDF]

open access: yesBiomedical Physics & Engineering Express, 2017
A new portal imager consisting of four vertically stacked conventional electronic portal imaging device (EPID) layers has been constructed in pursuit of improved detective quantum efficiency (DQE). We hypothesize that super-resolution (SR) imaging can also be achieved in such a system by shifting each layer laterally by half a pixel relative to the ...

A method for determining the performance of formulas for calculating the crack width and spacing in reinforced concrete elements

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract Numerous studies have been conducted to determine the performance of formulas for calculating crack width and spacing in reinforced concrete structures. Generally, these studies pay limited attention to the application areas of those formulas and how to compare different representations of the crack width and spacing.

Early Interaction Between Scripture, Rule of Faith, and Evolving Christian Doctrine and Tradition: A Response to Alister McGrath’s The Nature of Christian Doctrine

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic Theology, EarlyView.
Abstract This response to Alister McGrath’s The Nature of Christian Doctrine examines the interplay between Scripture, the Rule of Faith, and evolving Christian doctrine and tradition. Focusing on McGrath’s critique of Lindbeck’s presentation of doctrinal modalities, the article explores how doctrinal formation involves primarily synchronic (canonical),

A drought stress‐induced MYB transcription factor regulates pavement cell shape in leaves of European aspen (Populus tremula)

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 5, Page 2688-2705, September 2026.
MYB305a promoter expression increases in pavement cells as they grow and acquire their complex shape. Summary Leaf pavement cells of many plant species develop jigsaw puzzle‐like shapes in which neighboring cells interdigitate, providing an ideal model for the study of cell shape regulation.
