Sensitivity of Irish Pyrenopeziza brassicae populations to methyl benzimidazole carbamate (MBC), quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) and succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicides

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
For three collections of Irish Pyrenopeziza brassicae populations fungicide sensitivity status to methyl benzimidazole carbamate (MBC), quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) and succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicides was determined using sensitivity screening in vitro. Molecular mechanisms of insensitivity have been identified for MBC and QoI in

What are the vector species of the Oropouche virus?

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Here, we review the timeline of Oropouche virus (OROV) detection in various hematophagous Diptera, from 1955 to date, including mosquitoes and midges. All vector competence experiments also are described. The results suggest that Culicoides are the primary vectors.

A new method to measure EC50 reveals cultivar‐specific fungicide resistance and very high diversity within experimental field populations of Zymoseptoria tritici

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
We isolated Zymoseptoria tritici strains from a diverse wheat field and quantified fungicide resistance using a novel plate assay. We found high diversity in fungicide sensitivity and host–fungicide–pathogen interactions. Abstract BACKGROUND Zymoseptoria tritici causes Septoria tritici blotch (STB), the most damaging wheat disease in Europe. In Europe,

Climate Change and Energy Security Risk: Do Green Patents, Institutional Quality, and Human Capital Make a Difference?

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Climate change poses a significant threat to global energy security, yet the mechanisms through which this relationship unfolds—and the factors that buffer their adverse impacts—remain underexplored. This study examines the link between climate change, proxied by CO2 emissions, and energy security risk (ESR), with a particular focus on the ...
