Effects of maternal education on maternal and perinatal outcomes: An individual participant data meta‐analysis of 2 356 402 pregnancies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 172, Issue 2, Page 886-895, February 2026.
Abstract Background Maternal and perinatal mortality remain critical indicators of global health inequity. In 2020, an estimated 287 000 women died from preventable causes related to pregnancy, and in 2021, approximately 2.3 million neonatal deaths occurred within the first 28 days of life. The Gut Microbiota as a Mediator in the Relationship Between Dietary Patterns and Depression

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
Healthy dietary patterns are associated with gut microbial genera linked to lower depressive symptoms. In 644 older adults from the PREDIMED‐Plus cohort, 16S rRNA sequencing and dietary scoring revealed that taxa associated with a better diet quality were also more abundant in individuals with fewer depressive symptoms.

A Bayesian approach to estimate minute ventilation from heart rate during exercise for assessing environmental exposures of females

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, February 2026.
Abstract Estimating minute ventilation (V̇E) is essential for assessing the health impacts of environmental exposures during exercise field‐studies. Predictive equations using heart rate (HR) are commonly used, but overlook exercise intensity domains, and reduced accuracy is shown, particularly for females.
