Integrated Single‐Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics Reveal Cell‐Type‐Specific Immune Regulatory Networks in Maize Responding to Southern Corn Rust

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating single‐nuclei and spatial transcriptomics, this study presents a stereoscopic landscape of maize leaf to Puccinia polysora infection. Epidermal and mesophyll cells initiate primary defenses via RLPs/RLKs and jasmonic acid signaling. Cell‐cell communication analyses further reveal the underlying the dynamics of the underlying immune ...

Epidermal Inclusion Cyst Presenting as Prepatellar Bursitis

open access: yesMedical Journal of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth
An epidermal inclusion cyst is one of the rare benign lesions that can occur around the knee and can mimic prepatellar bursitis. They can occur anywhere in the body, but more prevalent sites are the face, neck, trunk, behind the ears, and palmoplantar ...

Emerging targeted strategies for the treatment of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is a widespread genetic disease that leads to renal failure in the majority of patients. The very first pharmacological treatment, tolvaptan, received Food and Drug Administration approval in 2018 ...

Spindle positioning in the stem cell niche [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Stem cells are the source of differentiated cells that constitute tissues and organs. Two fundamental characteristics of stem cells are their abilities to self‐renew stem cell identity and to produce differentiated cells, the balance of which can be ...

NPM1 Mediates mRNA Sorting into Extracellular Vesicles via Specific RNA Motif Binding and Phase Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NPM1 selectively sorts specific mRNAs into extracellular vesicles (EVs) by recognizing RNA motifs and forming phase‐separated condensates. These mRNA cargos—including EGFR—are then loaded via multivesicular bodies. This active sorting pathway, validated in EVs derived from both lung cancer cells and patient serum, reveals a specific mechanism for ...

Diffuse intestinal submucosal lipomatosis with incidental epidermal inclusion cyst of caecum clinically masquerading as carcinoma caecum

open access: yesRare Tumors, 2014
Symptomatic diffuse submucosal intestinal lipomatosis is a rare entity. Also few cases of epidermal inclusion cyst of caecum have been reported in literature.

Single‐Cell Transcriptomics Reveals FLS2‐Dependent Hypoxia Signaling and ERF13‐Mediated Transcription During flg22‐Triggered Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs sc‐RNA sequencing, genetics, and phenotyping to systematically map the cell‐type‐specific immune responses triggered by flg22. It reveals FLS2‐dependent transcriptional reprogramming in epidermal and mesophyll cells, and uncovers crosstalk between immune and hypoxia signaling pathways.

Epidermal splenic cyst

open access: yesSri Lanka Journal of Surgery, 2015
We report a case of a large epithelial cyst of the spleen of an 18 year old man who was treated with splenectomy. The management of splenic cysts has changed from total splenectomy to splenic preservation surgery. But complete splenectomy is reserved for cases in which cyst excision cannot be done.

Context‐Dependent Role of GDF15: GDF15+ Tumor‐Associated Macrophages Suppress OSCC Progression by Enhancing Phagocytosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies GDF15+ TAMs as a cell subset mediating tumor regression after immunotherapy. Macrophage‐intrinsic GDF15 enhances phagocytosis and antigen cross‐presentation to CD8+ T cells through the NF‐κB signaling pathway, thereby inhibiting tumor progression.
