To the four recorded cases of epidermoid cysts of the liver are added two cases recently seen in children. One was in a 4-yr-old girl and associated with biliary cirrhosis. The Journal of Hand Surgery, 1979An epidermoid cyst in the flexor superficialis tendon of the right middle finger of a child limited extension of the finger by preventing the distal gliding of the tendon at the inlet of the flexor tendon sheath. Full extension was regained by excising the tendon.

There is no universal agreement with regard to the histogenesis, but the majority of authors consider it as a monolayer teratoma, which is the reason why even a pure epidermoid cyst poses a serious therapeutic dilemma.
