A rare mental foramen variation and the role of cone‐beam computed tomography in preventing nerve injury: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The interforaminal space is frequently used for dental implant placement due to its strategic location between the bilateral mental foramina. However, neurosensory disturbances following surgical intervention near the mental foramen (MF) can occur in up to 43% of cases.

Applying DanGer Shock Eligibility Criteria to a Real‐World Cohort of Cardiogenic Shock Patients

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The DanGer Shock trial investigated the effects of adding a microaxial flow pump to guideline‐recommended therapy in patients with ST‐elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)‐related cardiogenic shock (CS), finding a lower all‐cause mortality at 180 days in the intervention group.

Small doses of epinephrine prolong the recovery from a rocuronium-induced neuromuscular block: a case report

open access: yesBMC Anesthesiology, 2018
Background During anaesthesia it is not uncommon to administer epinephrine in patients blocked by non-depolarizing muscle relaxants. However, there are few reports on possible interaction of epinephrine with neuromuscular transmission in humans.

Derivatization of Small Molecules using Deuterated Analog of Reactive Matrix to Facilitate Identification in Mass Spectrometry Imaging

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
The deuterated FMP‐10 analog, FMP‐10‐d3, enhances identification through isotopic labeling, providing structural insights via unique mass shifts. The approach improves the analysis of neurotransmitters and metabolites, facilitating neurochemical mapping and spatial metabolomics, with applications in neurodegenerative disease research. Mass spectrometry

Generation of Pseudo Metabolites as a Side Reaction in On‐Tissue Chemical Derivatization in Matrix‐Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Mass Spectrometry Imaging

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
On‐tissue chemical derivatization reagents enhance sensitivity and specificity, but the impact of side reactions remains understudied. The reactive matrix FMP‐10 promotes Mukaiyama‐like condensation reactions between endogenous metabolites to form pseudo metabolites that are structurally identical to endogenous metabolites.

Profiling a Neo‐Antigen‐Driven Immune Response in Healthy Volunteers: A Randomized, Double‐Blind, Placebo‐Controlled Study of the KLH Challenge Model

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Novel compounds targeting the adaptive immune system are commonly initially investigated in healthy volunteers (HV). HV frequently lack constitutively expressed drug‐target engagement biomarkers, complicating the evaluation of pharmacological activity. The keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) neo‐antigen challenge elicits a controlled immune response in HV ...

Evolving Real‐World Data and Evidence Use for New Drugs and Regenerative Medical Products Approvals in Japan—An Analysis of the 6‐Year Trend

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Several regulatory initiatives have been made to clarify the acceptability and requirements of real‐world data and real‐world evidence (RWD/E) for the benefit/risk assessment of new medical products in Japan. The objectives of this review were to characterize the use of RWD/E in regulatory applications of new medical products and to describe the ...
