Mineralogical and Geochemical Characteristics of the Gudang Handak Vein Group in the Pongkor Au‐Ag Deposit, West Java, Indonesia

open access: yesResource Geology, Volume 76, Issue 1, January‐December 2026.
The microtextural variations of quartz, which range from granular to feathery and microcrystalline forms, show a clear correlation between quartz geochemistry and gold grade, revealing that specific quartz textures are closely associated with higher gold concentrations in the Gudang Handak vein samples.

Characterization and Formation Process of Phayaung Taung Mesothermal Gold Deposit, Central Myanmar: Constraints From Raman Analysis of CO2 Bearing Fluid Inclusions

open access: yesResource Geology, Volume 76, Issue 1, January‐December 2026.
This study characterizes CO2‐bearing fluid inclusions in quartz from the Phayaung Taung mesothermal gold deposit, central Myanmar, using Raman spectroscopy. The results provide constraints on fluid composition, CO2 density, and possible formation conditions, indicating the involvement of low‐salinity H2O–CO2 fluids during gold mineralization.

Geology, Sulfur Isotopes and Ore Fluids of the Meyon Gold Deposit, Mon State, Southern Myanmar: Implications for Orogenic Gold Mineralization

open access: yesResource Geology, Volume 76, Issue 1, January‐December 2026.
Sulfur isotope compositions of pyrite (δ34S = −2.80‰ to +4.43‰) cluster near 0‰, indicating a dominantly magmatic–metamorphic source. Fluid inclusion assemblages record a systematic evolution from CO2‐rich to mixed CO2‐H2O and subsequently to H2O‐dominant fluids.

John W. Geissman: Never Let the You‐Know‐Who's Get You Down—There Is Too Much in Life to Experience and Learn From!

open access: yesPerspectives of Earth and Space Scientists, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2025.
Abstract My life in science, as a faculty member in Higher Education (The Academy), and as a proud member of AGU, reflects the fact that I am one of the very fortunate ones in the Geosciences who went through undergraduate and graduate years during the true blossoming of the science in the early years after the acceptance of Plate Tectonics.

Magmatic-epithermal transitions in alkalic systems: Porgera gold deposit, Papua New Guinea

open access: yes, 1992
Fluid-inclusion and stable isotope evidence are presented for the transition from magmatic-related mesothermal to meteoric water-dominated epithermal activity at the giant Porgera gold deposit, Papua New Guinea.
