Adds to the understanding of species diversity in the taxonomically challenging genus Elsholtzia, particularly in the biodiversity hotspot of the Hengduan Mountains. Demonstrates the utility of combining shallow whole‐genome sequencing and morphometrics in resolving species boundaries in closely related shrubby taxa.
