Epimorphin regulates bile duct formation via effects on mitosis orientation in rat liver epithelial stem-like cells.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2010
Understanding how hepatic precursor cells can generate differentiated bile ducts is crucial for studies on epithelial morphogenesis and for development of cell therapies for hepatobiliary diseases.

Removal Energies and Final State Interaction in Lepton Nucleus Scattering

open access: yes, 2019
We investigate the binding energy parameters that should be used in modeling electron and neutrino scattering from nucleons bound in a nucleus within the framework of the impulse approximation.

The effect of small elongations on the electronic and optical signatures in InAs nanocrystal quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present a detailed theoretical investigation of the electronic structure and optical properties of InAs nanocrystals at the transition from spheres to rods.

ZNRD2 Mediated Nucleoprotein Aggregation Impairs Respiratory Syncytial Virus Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During RSV infection, nucleoprotein (N) forms RNA‐bound oligomers. The host protein ZNRD2 binds to these oligomers, promoting their transition into insoluble aggregates. These aggregates simultaneously sequester functional N to restrict viral production and disrupt chaperonin assembly quality control by interfering with ZNRD2's role as an adaptor ...

Does Positronium Form in the Universe ?

open access: yes, 2004
Positronium (the bound state of electron and positron) has been thought to be formed after proton decay ($>10^{34}$yr) through collisional recombination and then decays by pair annihilation, thereby changing the matter content of the universe. We revisit

Energy-dependent solar neutrino flux depletion in the Exact Parity Model and implications for SNO, SuperKamiokande and BOREXINO [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Energy-dependent solar neutrino flux reduction caused by the Mikheyev-Smirnov-Wolfenstein (MSW) effect is applied to the Exact Parity Model. Several scenarios are possible, depending on the region of parameter space chosen.

Nurr1 Orchestrates Claustrum Development and Functionality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nurr1 (Nr4a2) is the master transcription factor to control claustrum morphogenesis and cell fate decision postmitotically by inhibiting intracellular G‐protein signaling. Nurr1 deficiency alters the transcriptomic profiles of subcortical claustral neurons into neocortical insular neurons, resulting in defected claustrum development, impaired axonal ...

Subnanosecond Fluctuations in Low-Barrier Nanomagnets

open access: yes, 2019
Fast magnetic fluctuations due to thermal torques have useful technological functionality ranging from cryptography to probabilistic computing. The characteristic time of fluctuations in typical uniaxial anisotropy magnets studied so far is bounded from ...

TTNPB Promotes Human Pluripotent Stem Cell‐to‐Neural Stem Cell Transition via Modulation of Chromatin Accessibility and the S‐(5′‐adenosyl)‐L‐homocysteine/Choline Metabolic Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A retinoic acid receptor agonist, TTNPB, drives the efficient generation of advanced neural stem cells (ANSCs) from human pluripotent stem cells. TTNPB‐centered chromatin remodeling and metabolic reprogramming, promote neuroectoderm commitment. The resulting cells show robust neural potential and functional efficacy in a rat depression model.
