Noncovalent functionalization of carbon nanotubes via co-deposition of tannic acid and polyethyleneimine for reinforcement and conductivity improvement in epoxy composite

Composites Science And Technology, 2019
In this paper, a novel strategy via one-pot co-deposition of tannic acid (TA) and polyethyleneimine (PEI) to modify the MWCNTs was reported, which allows to modify MWCNTs with polymer via robust linkage in a convenient, green and nondestructive way.

Hybrid C/Pet/epoxy composites

Journal of Materials Science, 1995
Hybrid carbon/PET/epoxy composites were prepared by a wet layup technique and characterized by standard methods of fracture and impact tests. The influence of PET fibre surface treatment with polyfunctional amine on the composite properties has been studied in order to determine the role of the fibre/matrix interface.

Carbon fiber cardanol-epoxy composites

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1996
Carbon fiber composites based on tetrafunctional epoxy resin N,N,N′,N′-tetraglycidyl-2,2-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]propane modified with cardanol were investigated. The differential scanning calorimetric technique was used to study the curing reaction of the neat resins. The dielectric properties of the composites were compared.

TiO—epoxy composite thermistors

Phase Transitions, 1986
Abstract TiO powder was incorporated into a rigid epoxy matrix to produce composite materials that exhibit unusually large PTC resistivity increases of up to ten orders of magnitude. The composites have a room-temperature resistivity (1–5 ω-cm) that is comparable with commercial carbon-black-loaded polyethylene thermistors.

Effects of hydrazine reduced graphene oxide on the inter-laminar fracture toughness of woven carbon fiber/epoxy composite

Composites Part B: Engineering, 2018
In this work, the hybridization effects of hydrazine reduced graphene oxide (rGO) on the inter-laminar shear strength (ILSS), impact strength, and in-plane fracture toughness of symmetric type carbon fiber/epoxy composite (CF/epoxy) laminates were ...

Interfacial toughening of carbon/epoxy composite by incorporating styrene acrylonitrile nanofibers

Theoretical and applied fracture mechanics (Print), 2018
In this research, Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN) nanofibers, produced by the electrospinning method, were used in order to improve out-of-plane and impact properties of a conventional carbon fiber/epoxy composite.

Multiscale Modeling of Epoxies and Epoxy-Based Composites

2020
Epoxies play an important role in determining the performance of epoxy-based composites, coatings, and adhesives. Multiscale modeling methods emerge as a complementary tool to conventional experimental and theoretical approaches and are widely used to study the relationships between processing, structure, and property of polymer materials.
