Self-extracted corn-stalk cellulose/epoxy resin composites

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In order to make full use of crop waste stalk, corn-stalk cellulose (CSC) was extracted by acid–base method and used as modifier of epoxy resin (E51) to prepare the self-extracted corn-stalk cellulose/epoxy resin composites (CSCEC). Differential scanning

Curing and post-curing luminescence in an epoxy resin [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
A spontaneous luminescence is reported when epoxy resin samples are heated in air. This phenomenon is very sensitive to the nature of the atmosphere. The same treatment in nitrogen leads to an extinction of the luminescence. The emission process is restored when samples are kept for a sufficient time in air.

Efficient Hole Injection From Indium Tin Oxide in Quantum‐Dot Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The realization of QLEDs‐based displays remains challenging due to the acidic surface from PEDOT:PSS. Here, an analysis is conducted by examining the degradation mechanism of PEDOT:PSS. By replacing PEDOT:PSS with 2BrCzPA, the formation of strong dipoles at the ITO/2BrCzPA SAM interfaces exhibits excellent hole injection abilities.

Glass transition of an epoxy resin induced by temperature, pressure and chemical conversion: a configurational entropy rationale [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A comparative study is reported on the dynamics of a glass-forming epoxy resin when the glass transition is approached through different paths: cooling, compression, and polymerization. In particular, the influence of temperature, pressure and chemical conversion on the dynamics has been investigated by dielectric spectroscopy.

Microencapsulation of imidazole curing agent by solvent evaporation method using W/O/W emulsion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The epoxy–imidazole resin system is used to form the anisotropic conducting film. The latent character of the system is very significant. In this study, imidazole (Im) or 2‐methylimidazole (2MI) was encapsulated for the latent curing system to use in the

The effect of clay on the mechanical properties of epoxy resins subjected to hygrothermal ageing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Epoxy polymers are an important class of material for use in various applications. Due to their hydrophilic nature, epoxy resins tend to absorb moisture. Absorption of moisture degrades the functional, structural and mechanical properties. For polymers, it is known that moisture absorption can lead to both reversible and irreversible changes.

Electrical conductivity of carbon nanofiber reinforced resins: potentiality of Tunneling Atomic Force Microscopy (TUNA) technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Epoxy nanocomposites able to meet pressing industrial requirements in the field of structural material have been developed and characterized. Tunneling Atomic Force Microscopy (TUNA), which is able to detect ultra-low currents ranging from 80 fA to 120 pA, was used to correlate the local topography with electrical properties of tetraglycidyl methylene ...
