Experimental Study of Low Cycle Fatigue Properties for Epoxy Resins with Dibutyl Phthalate (Dbp)
In order to improve the toughness of traditional epoxy resin, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) was introduced into the epoxy resin. The static mechanical performance of plasticized and unplasticized epoxy resin was evaluated.

Sensitizing Structure in Epoxy Resin
An instance of glue dermatitis was traced to epoxy resin. The hardener used was phthalic anhydride. Samples were obtained from the manufacturer (Ciba) in order to ascertain the sensitizing component. It was recommended that patch test be applied in a one per cent concentration in olive oil. The formula and results of testing appear in the Table.

Toughening of epoxy resins [PDF]
Epoxy resins constitute an important class of thermosets which are used extensively in the field of composites, adhesives surface coatings, etc. They are of aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic backbones. Epoxy resins based on bisphenol A are commercially available and they have good thermal and mechanical properties.

The effect of clay on the mechanical properties of epoxy resins subjected to hygrothermal ageing [PDF]
Epoxy polymers are an important class of material for use in various applications. Due to their hydrophilic nature, epoxy resins tend to absorb moisture. Absorption of moisture degrades the functional, structural and mechanical properties. For polymers, it is known that moisture absorption can lead to both reversible and irreversible changes.

Electrical conductivity of carbon nanofiber reinforced resins: potentiality of Tunneling Atomic Force Microscopy (TUNA) technique [PDF]
Epoxy nanocomposites able to meet pressing industrial requirements in the field of structural material have been developed and characterized. Tunneling Atomic Force Microscopy (TUNA), which is able to detect ultra-low currents ranging from 80 fA to 120 pA, was used to correlate the local topography with electrical properties of tetraglycidyl methylene ...

FTIR and GCMS analysis of epoxy resin decomposition products feeding the flame during UL 94 standard flammability test. Application to the understanding of the blowing-out effect in epoxy/polyhedral silsesquioxane formulations [PDF]
A novel method was developed for the sampling of volatiles produces by polymer decomposition during UL94 standard flammability tests, allowing to collect, separate and analyze the precise composition of the fuel mixture feeding the flame in the real flammability tests.

In this study, a cuff‐free, less‐invasive surgical approach for vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) by combining ultrathin Y‐shaped kirigami electrodes is developed with a chemically cross‐linked hydrogel adhesive (hydrogel‐kirigami). Unlike conventional cuff implantation, which may damage nerves and nearby critical vessels, this new technique minimizes ...
