EQCM contributions to the reactions of the nickel oxide electrode

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2001
Films of nickel hydroxide (thickness 0.35 μm) were electrochemically deposited on smooth and rough Au electrodes of an electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance. The films consisted of α-Ni(OH)2 (diffractogram) and contained traces of NO3− and CO32− (IR).

EQCM study of the dissolution of gold in thiosulfate solutions

Hydrometallurgy, 2013
Abstract The anode behavior of gold in 0.1 M Na 2 S 2 O 3 at the background of 0.5 M CH 3 COONa (pH 8.5) was studied on the fresh electrode surface by means of EQCM and voltammetry. The oxidation of thiosulfate causes complete passivation of gold at a potential more positive than 0.8 V. Within the potential range from the open circuit potential (OCP)

Electrochemical Deposition of Tin and Silicon Studied by EQCM

ECS Transactions, 2014
Silicon and Tin thin films were prepared by electrochemical deposition on copper and nickel substrates in the Atmosbag. Electrochemical activity is described by cyclic voltammetry and for studying increase of weight were used EQCM. Deposited layers were studied by optic microscopy, electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.

EQCM Biosensors Based on DNA Aptamers and Antibodies for Rapid Detection of Prions

Protein & Peptide Letters, 2009
Novel affinity biosensors for detecting cellular prions, PrP(C), based on DNA aptamers and antibodies immobilized onto the carbon nanotubes have been designed and compared in accordance with their binding ability and analytical performance. The biosensors allowed us to detect PrP(C) with the limits of detection of 20 to 50 pM.

Solvent structure at the metal/solution interface and the response of the EQCM

Electrochimica Acta, 2000
The electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance was used to obtain information on the structure of the metal/solution interface. In our previous studies, pyridine was used as a model system, and its adsorption on gold and silver were compared. In the present work this study was extended to determine the effect of the solvent, employing the same ...

Study of corrosion inhibition of copper in 0.1 M NaCl using the EQCM technique

open access: yesElectrochimica Acta, 1998
The inhibition of Cu corrosion in 0.1 M NaCl solution was studied using the EQCM technique. Some organic compounds, at 10-3 M concentration, were tested as inhibitors.

Investigation of Sn–Zn electrodeposition from acidic bath on EQCM

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2011
Abstract Tin–zinc (Sn–Zn) alloy with low tin content was deposited on gold electrode and steel substrate with use of chronoamperometric technique from an acidic bath. In order to evaluate coating efficiency of Sn–Zn alloy in 0.5 M NaCl solution, open circuit potential–time curve ( E OCP – t ), polarization curves, mass change of the electrode (Δ m –

EQCM Study of Rhodium Anodic Dissolution in Sulfuric Acid

Russian Journal of Electrochemistry, 2002
Rh anodic dissolution is studied in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution in the E range from 0.2 to 1.2 V (RHE) by means of EQCM, cyclic voltammetry, photometry, and XPS. Bright pure Rh electroplate ∼0.5 μm thick on a gold sputtered quartz crystal electrode is used for electrochemical and microgravimetrical studies. It is found that the increase in Rh electrode weight

An EQCM Study of the Corrosion of Synthetic Aluminium Alloys

ECS Transactions, 2008
Thin film aluminum electrodes were sputter-deposited onto quartz resonators for the electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance technique. The aluminum electrodes were then photolithographically patterned and decorated with arrays of Cu islands or Al-Cu-Mg islands mimicking cathodic and anodic phases in commercial Al alloys.

Monitoring formation of poly(neutral red) film by EQCM

Russian Journal of Electrochemistry, 2007
An electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) is employed for monitoring the growth of poly(neutral red) films on platinum in the electrolytic solution containing 5.0 mmol dm−3 neutral red, 0.3 mol dm−3 H2SO4, and 0.5 mol dm−3 Na2SO4. The in situ measurement of the frequency changes of the EQCM reveals that both the adsorption/desorption of ...
