Parametric Hear through Equalization for Augmented Reality Audio

ICASSP 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2019
Augmented Reality (AR) audio applications require headphones to be acoustically transparent so that real sounds can pass through unaltered for natural fusion with virtual sounds. In this paper, we consider a multiple source scenario for hear through (HT) equalization (EQ) using closed-back circumaural headsets.

Advanced audio spatializer combined with a multipoint equalization system

2014 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN), 2014
The paper deals with the development of a real time system for the reproduction of an immersive audio field considering the crosstalk cancellation and the room response equalization issues. In particular, the real-time system is composed of two parts: a crosstalk cancellation network and a combined multipoint equalization structure.

On the design of high order digital audio equalizers

2007 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems, 2007
This paper presents a new approach for designing high order digital audio equalizer filters. The new design is based on odd order analog allpass filters and bilinear transformation. The analog allpass filters are designed using Butterworth, Chebyshev I, Chebyshev II and elliptic polynomials.

Optimizing a High-Order Graphic Equalizer for Audio Processing

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2014
A high-order graphic equalizer has the advantage that the gain in one band is highly independent of the gains in the adjacent bands. However, all practical filters have transition bands, which interact with the adjacent bands and create errors in the desired magnitude response.

Cable equalizer for aes digital audio data

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002
An electrical signal is equalized at the receiving end of a transmission path by applying the signal both to a frequency-dependent emphasizer and to a first port of a mixer and applying the output signal of the frequency-dependent emphasizer to a second port of the mixer.

Digital data equalizing in multitrack digital audio recording

ICASSP '86. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
Digital Audio stationary-head recording is performed with recording densities requiring playback equalization to reduce intersymbol interference. In today's digital audio recorders, data retrieval is usually implemented with analog circuits (equalizing filters, DC component restoration, data detectors) with manual adjustment.

An Automatic Graphic Equalizer for Car Audio Systems

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1984
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Although a graphic equalizer is almost essential for high quality automobile audio systems, consumers, not knowing the actual data of the field in automotive cabins, often have difficulty making a satisfactory adjustment.

Equalization of a PC Audio Card

2005
The main goal of this paper was the equalization of an inexpensive PC audio card and the application of a PC computer as a storage device for the sound pressure and vibration measurements. Since magnitude response of the audio card is not flat in the desired frequency band, a finite impulse response (FIR) digital filter was designed and implemented in ...

Reciprocal, subtractive, audio spectrum equalizer

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1991
An equalizer circuit is disclosed having adjustable bandpass filters connected with operational amplifiers in feedforward and feedback paths so as to form frequency selective boost and cut signal components, which are then combined to form the equalized output signal by a subtractive operation with a direct unfiltered signal path arranged in parallel ...

Digital audio equalizers with flat frequency response

2009 International Symposium on Signals, Circuits and Systems, 2009
In this paper a design method of the digital audio equalizers with small ringing impulse responses, by using symmetric B-spline functions and spline polynomials, is presented. It is important to have a flat frequency response for the audio equalizer.
