Design and synthesis of the audio equalizers

Proceedings 7th International Conference on Signal Processing, 2004. Proceedings. ICSP '04. 2004., 2005
This paper designs and synthesizes audio equalizers for multimedia applications. In order to prevent the equalizers from boosting undesired frequency components, the peaks of the inverse model of room transfer function are clipped. Different techniques are then used to synthesize the equalizer from the clipped amplitude response.

Automatic audio system equalizing

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2009
An automated process for equalizing an audio system and an apparatus for implementing the process. An audio system includes a microphone unit, for receiving the sound waves radiated from a plurality of speakers, acoustic measuring circuitry, for calculating frequency response measurements; a memory, for storing characteristic data of the loudspeaker ...

Multi-rate sampling digital audio equalizer

IEEE Proceedings of the SOUTHEASTCON '91, 2002
The advantages of implementing a digital audio equalizer using multirate sampling techniques vs. fixed sampling are presented. A theoretical discussion of multirate sampling equalization design issues such as processor computational bandwidth, number of equalizer bands, frequency resolution in a particular band, and filter type and order are reviewed ...

Digital audio equalizer

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994
There is disclosed a digital audio equalizer comprising an analog/digital (A/D) converter for converting an analog audio signal into a digital audio data, a digital interface receiver for demodulating the digital data that have been modulated into a digital audio interface format into the original audio data, a signal input select switch for selecting ...

Cable equalizer for aes digital audio data

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002
An electrical signal is equalized at the receiving end of a transmission path by applying the signal both to a frequency-dependent emphasizer and to a first port of a mixer and applying the output signal of the frequency-dependent emphasizer to a second port of the mixer.

Digital audio equalizers with flat frequency response

2009 International Symposium on Signals, Circuits and Systems, 2009
In this paper a design method of the digital audio equalizers with small ringing impulse responses, by using symmetric B-spline functions and spline polynomials, is presented. It is important to have a flat frequency response for the audio equalizer.

Multipoint equalization of digital car audio systems

2009 Proceedings of 6th International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis, 2009
In this paper a novel approach for automotive sound system enhancement based on multipoint equalization is presented. Beginning from well known techniques applied to room equalization issues, a frequency domain algorithm that combines fractional octave smoothing of measured impulse responses (IRs) in multiple locations is developed.

Gravitational Search Algorithm for IIR Filter-Based Audio Equalization

2020 28th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2021
In this paper we present an evolutionary algorithm for the design of stable IIR filters for binaural audio equalization. The filters are arranged as a cascade of second-order sections (SOS’s) and the gravitational search algorithm (GSA) is used. This process seeks for optimal coefficients based on a fitness function, possibly leading to unstable ...

Audio-Speech Watermarking Using a Channel Equalizer

Wireless Personal Communications, 2017
Currently, the use of telephone systems is highly popular in speech telecommunication and also they have a wide presence in transmission of digital signals. In recent years, audio-speech watermarking as a modern technique makes use of the telephone channel to transmit the watermark data, but addressing the watermark’s vulnerability to noise in the ...

Reciprocal, subtractive, audio spectrum equalizer

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1991
An equalizer circuit is disclosed having adjustable bandpass filters connected with operational amplifiers in feedforward and feedback paths so as to form frequency selective boost and cut signal components, which are then combined to form the equalized output signal by a subtractive operation with a direct unfiltered signal path arranged in parallel ...
