Large time behavior of weakly coupled systems of first-order Hamilton-Jacobi equations [PDF]
We show a large time behavior result for class of weakly coupled systems of first-order Hamilton-Jacobi equations in the periodic setting. We use a PDE approach to extend the convergence result proved by Namah and Roquejoffre (1999) in the scalar case ...

Self-consistent solutions to the intersubband rate equations in quantum cascade lasers: Analysis of a GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs device [PDF]
The carrier transition rates and subband populations for a GaAs/AlGaAs quantum cascade laser operating in the mid-infrared frequency range are calculated by solving the rate equations describing the electron densities in each subband self-consistently.

On certain equations and inequalities involving the arithmetical functions φ(n) and d(n) – II [PDF]
In papers [3] and [5] we have studied certain equations and inequalities involving the arithmetical functions φ(n) and d(n). In this paper we will consider some other equations. Some open problems will be stated, too.

A need in finding of new ways of energy saving at open switchgears of power plants is substantiated. In order to increase energy saving efficiency, an auxiliary breaker is suggested to be inserted between a transformer of a block and its two high-voltage

Entropy Solution Theory for Fractional Degenerate Convection-Diffusion Equations [PDF]
We study a class of degenerate convection diffusion equations with a fractional nonlinear diffusion term. These equations are natural generalizations of anomalous diffusion equations, fractional conservations laws, local convection diffusion equations ...

The most crucial individual tree variables in forest management are diameter at breast height (DBH) and height of trees (H). Projection of stand development over time relies on accurate height-diameter functions.

On the discrete and continuous Miura Chain associated with the Sixth Painlevé Equation [PDF]
A Miura chain is a (closed) sequence of differential (or difference) equations that are related by Miura or B\"acklund transformations. We describe such a chain for the sixth Painlev\'e equation (\pvi), containing, apart from \pvi itself, a Schwarzian ...
