NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF LARGE SCALE EQUATORIAL SPREAD F

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 1996
We have performed numerical simulations of nonlinear evolution of plasma interchange instability in equatorial spread F(ESF) under different conditions. It is shown that the interchange instability resulting from one-or two-dimensional initial density perturbations can grow into plasma bubbles but cannot evolve into the plumelike structures on the west

ZSL Orchestrates Synaptonemal Complex Assembly as a Central Region Scaffold to Ensure Synapsis Fidelity and Crossover Control in Polyploid Meiosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A central molecular adaptor, ZSL, is identified that links transverse filaments ZYP1 to central element SCEP1/2 to drive synaptonemal complex assembly in Brassica napus. Loss of ZSL abolishes synaptonemal complex formation, disrupts meiotic chromosome segregation, and markedly increases crossovers, providing mechanistic insight into meiotic fidelity ...

On the Structure and Redox Behavior of Ni and Cu Single Atoms Supported on Carbon Nitride

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Magnetic and electronic spectroscopies, combined with DFT, establish the MN4 binding site of Ni and Cu single atoms on carbon nitride and elucidate their redox photochemistry. Ni undergoes geometry‐preserving, reversible M2+/M+ cycling, whereas Cu collapses to an irreversible low‐coordinate Cu+ state, suppressing photocatalysis.

Impact of meridional winds on the development of equatorial plasma bubbles: a review

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
The impact of meridional winds on the onset and evolution of equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs) is reviewed. The conventional wisdom had been that transequatorial meridional winds have a stabilizing effect on the development of EPBs during equatorial ...

2D Multi-Angle, Multi-Group Neutrino Radiation-Hydrodynamic Simulations of Postbounce Supernova Cores [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We perform axisymmetric (2D) multi-angle, multi-group neutrino radiation-hydrodynamic calculations of the postbounce phase of core-collapse supernovae using a genuinely 2D discrete-ordinate (S_n) method.

Equatorial spread F and interplanetary magnetic field.

open access: yesJournal of geomagnetism and geoelectricity, 1977
A reversal of the vertical F region drifts over the magnetic equator during the nighttime hours from the normal downward direction to upward direction is shown to cause the sudden generation of the Range type spread F configuration on the ionograms after a delay of about one hour.

Atomic Tuning of Metal‐Support Interactions for Pathway‐Selective CO2 Photoreduction on TiO2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐atom Fe and Cu catalysts anchored on TiO2 steer photocatalytic CO2 reduction toward distinct pathways. Fe sites favor rapid *CO desorption and selective CO formation, whereas Cu sites stabilize *CHO intermediates, enabling deep reduction and C─C coupling. Combined spectroscopy and DFT calculations reveal how metal–support interactions and oxygen

Interaction of plasma drifts: A hypothesis for equatorial spread F occurrence

open access: yesJournal of Space Weather and Space Climate
Studies on the generation mechanisms of post-sunset ionospheric irregularities, which constitute a threat to trans-ionospheric radio propagation, particularly at the African sector, are quite sparse.

Simulations of the Poynting--Robertson Cosmic Battery in Resistive Accretion Disks

open access: yes, 2007
We describe the results of numerical "2.5--dimensional" MHD simulations of an initially unmagnetized disk model orbiting a central point--mass and responding to the continual generation of poloidal magnetic field due to a secular source that emulates the
