Crystalline Poly(L‐Lactic Acid) Nanoparticles via Nonsolvent‐Induced Cascade Phase Separation

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Water is used as the nonsolvent to induce liquid/liquid phase separation (LLPS) of poly(L‐lactic acid) (PLLA)/propylene carbonate solution and PLLA crystallization. Due to the two levels of cascade LLPS coupled with confined PLLA crystallization, three types of polymeric nanoparticles, including PLLA single crystals, Ouzo crystalsomes, and sheaf‐like ...

Size limit and spontaneous emission factor for equilateral triangle semiconductor microlasers

open access: yes, 2002
The size of equilateral triangle resonator (ETR) needed for confining the fundamental mode is investigated by the total reflection condition of mode light rays and the FDTD numerical simulation.

Eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Laplace operator on an equilateral triangle [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
summary:A boundary value problem for the Laplace equation with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions on an equilateral triangle is transformed to a problem of the same type on a rectangle. This enables us to use, e.g., the cyclic reduction method for

Resonance mode of an equilateral triangle with triangle notch

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 2014
A symmetrically breaking nanostructure, equilateral triangle with triangle notch, is designed. The extinction spectrum and surface electric field distribution on the structure surface are investigated by the discrete dipole approximation method. The results show that a Fano resonance line-shape occurs in the extinction spectrum, which results from the ...

A new smooth failure criterion for concrete inspired by Lubliner's condition

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract A new failure criterion with 10 parameters is proposed, based on Lubliner's idea of joining two Drucker–Prager cones. The novelty lies in the way of introducing deviatoric shape variation: through two Podgórski's functions. This feature allows for improving plane stress cross‐section's compatibility with experimental data.

Equilateral-Triangle and Square Resonator Semiconductor Microlasers

open access: yes, 2009
The characteristics of equilateral-triangle resonator (ETR) and square resonator microlasers are reported, which are potential light sources in the photonic integrations.

Apollonian Equilateral Triangles

open access: yes, 2013
Given an equilateral triangle with $a$ the square of its side length and a point in its plane with $b$, $c$, $d$ the squares of the distances from the point to the vertices of the triangle, it can be computed that $a$, $b$, $c$, $d$ satisfy $3(a^2+b^2+c^2+d^2)=(a+b+c+d)^2$. This paper derives properties of quadruples of nonnegative integers $(a,\, b,\,

Epiglottis Collapse in Individuals With Obstructive Sleep Apnea

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common sleep disorder characterized by repeated upper airway collapse during sleep. The epiglottis, often overlooked in conventional assessments, has emerged as a site of significant obstruction in OSA.
