Emergent geometry and duality in the carbon nucleus
The carbon atom provides the backbone for the complex organic chemistry composing the building blocks of life. The physics of the carbon nucleus in its predominant isotope, 12C, is similarly full of multifaceted complexity.

On a Covering Problem for Equilateral Triangles [PDF]
Let $T$ be a unit equilateral triangle, and $T_1,\dots,T_n$ be $n$ equilateral triangles that cover $T$ and satisfy the following two conditions: (i) $T_i$ has side length $t_i$ ($0 < t_i < 1$); (ii) $T_i$ is placed with each side parallel to a side of $T$.

A molecule consisting of three quantum dots, whose centers form a triangle of the InAs/GaAs heterosystem, was studied. A numerical calculation of the energy spectrum of an electron in a molecule formed from three spherical quantum dots was carried out ...

On the Robin spectrum for the equilateral triangle*
Abstract The equilateral triangle is one of the few planar domains where the Dirichlet and Neumann eigenvalue problems were explicitly determined, by Lamé in 1833, despite not admitting separation of variables. In this paper, we study the Robin spectrum of the equilateral triangle, which was determined by McCartin in 2004 in terms of a ...

Equality of internal angles and vertex points in conformal hyperbolic triangles
In this article, by using the conformal structure in Euclidean space, the conformal structures in hyperbolic space and the equality of the internal angles and vertex points of conformal triangles in hyperbolic space are given. Especially in these special

Distinct equilateral triangle dissections of convex regions [PDF]
summary:We define a proper triangulation to be a dissection of an integer sided equilateral triangle into smaller, integer sided equilateral triangles such that no point is the vertex of more than three of the smaller triangles.

Dynamic evolution mechanism of water-bearing coal permeability and water film under stress
To explore coal permeability evolution mechanism under the comprehensive action of multiple factors including stress - adsorption - water and slippage effect, considering the coal deformation induced by stress - adsorption, the expression of water film ...

New Ways to Calculate the Probability in the Bertrand Problem
We give two new ways of calculating the probability of a chord of circumference randomly selected being larger than the side of an equilateral triangle inscribed in the circumference (this problem is known as the Bertrand paradox).

Quantization for uniform distributions on equilateral triangles [PDF]
We approximate the uniform measure on an equilateral triangle by a measure supported on $n$ points. We find the optimal sets of points ($n$-means) and corresponding approximation (quantization) error for $n\leq4$, give numerical optimization results for $n\leq 21$, and a bound on the quantization error for $n\to\infty$.
