Equilibrium and stability properties of collisionless current sheet models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The work in this thesis focuses primarily on equilibrium and stability properties of collisionless current sheet models, in particular of the force-free Harris sheet model.

Directed Random Market: The Equilibrium Distribution [PDF]

open access: yesActa Applicandae Mathematicae, 2014
We find the explicit expression for the equilibrium wealth distribution of the Directed Random Market process, recently introduced by Martínez-Martínez and López-Ruiz, which turns out to be a Gamma distribution with shape parameter $\frac{1}{2}$. We also prove the convergence of the discrete-time process describing the evolution of the distribution of ...

On equilibrium charge distribution above dielectric surface

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2009
The problem of the equilibrium state of the charged many-particle system above dielectric surface is formulated. We consider the case of the presence of the external attractive pressing field and the case of its absence.

Equilibrium temperature distribution and Hadley circulation in an axisymmetric model [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2015
The impact of the equilibrium temperature distribution, θE, on the Hadley circulation simulated by an axisymmetric model is studied. The θE distributions that drive the model are modulated here by two parameters, n and k, the former ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Solid-Liquid Equilibrium Study of Binary System Saturated Fatty Acid in Short Chain Alcohols [PDF]

open access: yes
Unsaturated fatty acids are potential to be used for preventing degenerative diseases and developing brain function in babies. Separation of unsaturated fatty acids from saturated fatty acids efficiently achieved by urea complexation fractionation method.

The Non-Equilibrium Statistical Distribution Function for Electrons and Holes in Semiconductor Heterostructures in Steady-State Conditions

open access: yesEntropy, 2015
The main goal of this work is to determine a statistical non-equilibrium distribution function for the electron and holes in semiconductor heterostructures in steady-state conditions.

Case of equilibrium beam distribution dependence on storage ring nonlinearity

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2022
In an electron storage ring, the emittances are determined by the beam energy and the linear lattice; the effects of lattice nonlinearity are usually negligible. In this study, we show a case where the vertical emittance has a strong quadratic dependence

Model Kinetic Equations for Multiply Ionized Gas Mixtures

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2021
Model kinetic equations are proposed for the description of ionized monoatomic gas mixture flows. The mixtures are assumed enough rarefied to be treated as ideal gases after multiple ionization steps.
