The Determination of the Equilibrium Exchange Rate in a Simple General Equilibrium Model [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Development Economics, 2006
In this article, we develop an analytical general equilibrium model of the equilibrium exchange rate. This theoretical framework allows us to identify the relevant set of variables which determinate the equilibrium exchange rate and to explore how theses variables influence the trajectory of the equilibrium exchange rate.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

REAL EXCHANGE RATE AND ECONOMIC FUNDAMENTAL: EMPIRICAL STUDY OF ASEAN-5

open access: yesEconomic Journal of Emerging Markets, 2011
This paper studies the effect of fundamental economic variables on real exchange rates in Asean-5. The fundamental economic variables are capital mobility, technological progress, terms of trade, opennes index and fiscal policy.

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.

Seasonal fluctuations and equilibrium models of exchange rate [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Economics, 2009
Most of the evidence on dynamic equilibrium exchange rate models is based on seasonally adjusted consumption data. Equilibrium models have not worked well in explaining the actual exchange rate. However, the use of seasonally adjusted data might be responsible for the spurious rejection of the model.

The Shewanella oneidensis Fic enzyme SoFic targets the switch‐I region of EF‐Tu for AMPylation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fic enzymes mediate diverse post‐translational modifications across all domains of life, including AMPylation. Prokaryotic EF‐Tu can be AMPylated and deAMPylated by the conserved Fic enzyme SoFic. Structural and biochemical approaches were used to characterize the effect of AMPylation on EF‐Tu, SoFic's enzymatic activities, and the enzyme‐target ...

Real exchange rate effect on economic growth: comparison of fundamental equilibrium exchange rate and Balassa–Samuelson based Rodrik approach

open access: yesJournal of Applied Economics, 2021
This study reproduces the work of Dani Rodrik on real exchange rate undervaluation and economic growth for 93 countries over the period 1990–2018. While the empirical literature on the dynamics between the real exchange rate1 and economic growth is ...

Artificial molecular machines and motors—Design and control of nanoscale motion

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Molecules are constantly moving because of thermal fluctuations, but random motion alone cannot be exploited to perform directional tasks. Artificial molecular machines use chemical, electrical, or light energy to bias this motion. Molecular shuttles, rotary motors, and supramolecular pumps illustrate how nanoscale movement can be controlled and ...

The Impact of Inflation Targeting Policy on Currency Management in Developing Countries [PDF]

open access: yesمطالعات مدیریت راهبردی, 2019
of the main issues in the developing countries is the correct management of the exchange rate, so that less or more evaluation than the equilibrium exchange rate causes instability and imbalances in macroeconomics, especially in the field of exports and ...
