Equilibrium Points of Bimatrix Games

Journal of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, 1964
An algebraic proof is given of the existence of equilibrium points for bimatrix (or two-person, non-zero-sum) games. The proof is constructive, leading to an efficient scheme for computing an equilibrium point. In a nondegenerate case, the number of equilibrium points is finite and odd. The proof is valid for any ordered field.

Continuity Properties of Walras Equilibrium Points

Annals of Operations Research, 2002
Convergence notions for bivariate functions are explored that yield convergence and stability results for their max/inf points. The results are then applied to obtain continuity results for Walras equilibrium points under perturbations of the utility functions of the agents.

Rejecting the Equilibrium-Point Hypothesis

Motor Control, 1998
The lambda version of the equilibrium-point (EP) hypothesis as developed by Feldman and colleagues has been widely used and cited with insufficient critical understanding. This article offers a small antidote to that lack. First, the hypothesis implicitly, unrealistically assumes identical transformations of lambda into muscle tension for antagonist ...

Simultaneous stabilization of multiple equilibrium points

2004 43rd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37601), 2004
With reference to a class of nonlinear systems exhibiting more unstable equilibrium points, possibly in conjunction with stable ones, the paper presents a state-feedback control strategy capable of simultaneously stabilizing them all. The proposed control law, which does not require explicit knowledge of the equilibria, entails evaluating the Jacobian ...

Stability and equilibrium points in neurocontrol

Proceedings of ICNN'95 - International Conference on Neural Networks, 2002
Neurocontrollers are investigated for existence of equilibrium points of closed loop. Equilibrium points are a prerequisite for controller stability. Theorems concerning neurocontroller structure are formulated for both stabilization and tracking control tasks. The results are illustrated on a real-world example from industrial automation.

The Radioactive Equilibrium Point

I present a proposed experiment with expected results that could support the existence of a Radioactive Equilibrium Point, a condition in which the interaction of gamma radiation and radio waves, when applied in precise frequency symmetry, induces partial stabilization ofradioactive decay rates.

Equilibrium Points in Bimatrix Games

Theory of Probability & Its Applications, 1958
An algorithm for computing all equilibrium points (situations) for the case of bimatrix (i.e., finite two-person, non-cooperative, non-zero-sum) games is given.
