Estimating Namibias Equilibrium Real Exchange Rate

open access: yesInternational Business and Economics Research Journal, 2014
This paper estimates the equilibrium real exchange rate for Namibia for the post independence period (1998 to 2012) using quarterly data. Increases in the ratio of investment to GDP and resource balance are associated with an appreciation of the real exchange rate.

Equilibrium Real Exchange Rate in Macedonia

International Journal of Monetary Economics and Finance, 2007
This paper provides for an empirical analysis of real exchange rates in Macedonia. The empirical model specifies the equilibrium real exchange rate as a function of the fundamental factors. The Eurozone’s Equilibrium Real Exchange Rates

EQUILIBRIUM REAL EXCHANGE RATES

The Manchester School, 1992
This paper analyzes the role of the real exchange rate in macroeconomic equilibrium. The supply-side equilibrium exchange rate, that level of the real exchange rate at which (relative) inflation is constant, is derived from a simple macro-model and related to the standard "NAIRU" model.

Equilibrium Real Exchange Rate, Volatility, and Stabilization

Journal of Development Economics, 1997
Abstract This paper is composed of two parts. The theoretical part studies the effect of real exchange rate (RER) volatility on trade using a general equilibrium framework. The volatility of the RER is derived endogenously, and is caused by a demand shock, which may be influenced by inflation volatility.
