Ionic Precursors Transformed Into Vinyl Acetate Synthesis Catalyst via Reaction‐Driven Restructuring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that a simple physical mixture of Pd and Au ionic precursors, KOAc promoter, and SiO2 support can transform into a highly active vinyl acetate synthesis catalyst through reaction‐driven restructuring. The results highlight reaction‐induced restructuring as an innovative and sustainable catalyst design strategy.

Real exchange rate in Ecuador: Decomposition and misalignment with the real equilibrium exchange rate

open access: yesCuestiones Económicas, 2021
The objective of this research is the analysis of the Ecuadorian Real Exchange Rate Index (ITCR) considering two angles. The first, to investigate the evolution of the variable through the factors that intervene in its calculation: the nominal exchange rate and relative prices.

Estimating the equilibrium exchange rate of the Estonian kroon [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper presents empirical estimations of the equilibrium exchange rate of the Estonian kroon. The behavioural equilibrium exchange rate (BEER) approach is used to analyse the dynamics of the real effective exchange rate in the time period from 1995 to

Multimodal Optoelectronic Synapses for Neuromorphic Intelligence: Coupling Light, Electrical, Thermal, and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review revisits optoelectronic neuromorphic devices that extend from unimodal sensing toward multimodal perception. Five types of stimuli‐to‐output information flow that are classified based on the device roles within the system and applications are summarized and discussed.

Response of the Equilibrium Real Exchange Rate to Real Disturbances in Developing Countries

open access: yesIMF Working Papers, 1991
Using a simple dependent - economy framework, this paper outlines the links between the equilibrium real exchange rate and some of its fundamental exogenous determinants, mainly terms of trade movements and commercial policy changes. Drawing on existing studies of trade flows in developing countries, it is possible to derive plausible quantitative ...

Testing the Equilibrium Exchange Rate Model - Updated [PDF]

open access: yes
We find favorable evidence for the textbook equilibrium exchange rate model of Stockman (1987) using Blanchard and Quah’s (1989) decomposition. Real shocks are shown to account for more than 90 percent of movements in the real exchange rate between ...

Light‐Induced Field‐Tunneling Synapses in Solution‐Processed Van Der Waals Heterostructures for Scalable, Retina‐Inspired Optical Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable, solution‐processed WSe2/ZrO2‐x van der Waals heterostructure realizes a light‐induced field‐tunneling synapse (LIFTS) that activates exclusively under bright illumination, emulating the photopic adaptation of the human retina at the device level.

Equilibrium exchange rate and misalignment In selected MENA countries [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of this paper is to estimate the equilibrium real exchange rate and derive the degree of misalignment for five MENA currencies: the Algerian Dinar, the Moroccan Dirham, the Egyptian Pound, the Tunisian Dinar and the Turkish lira.

Advancing SafeWax, A Bio‐Inspired Superhydrophobic Coating, Toward Sustainable and Climate‐Resilient Crop Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study advances SafeWax, a bio‐inspired, fatty‐acids‐based superhydrophobic coating, by identifying an agriculturally compliant solvent and revealing how solvent‐controlled Fatty acid crystallization governs the coating's microscopic structure and performance.
