Immunoglobulin binding protein (BiP) forms two types of dimers. [PDF]
Abstract Immunoglobulin binding protein (BiP) is a chaperone protein that plays crucial roles in protein folding and transport by binding unfolded proteins in the substrate binding domain (SBD), an interaction allosterically linked to the nucleotide occupancy of the nucleotide binding domain (NBD).

The C-terminal tails of GroEL and its mitochondrial and chloroplastic homologs adopt polyproline II helices. [PDF]
Abstract The chaperonin GroEL and its mitochondrial and chloroplastic homologs mHsp60 and Cpn60 are large barrel‐like oligomeric proteins. Chaperonins facilitate folding by isolating nascent chains in their hollow interior and undergoing ATP‐powered conformational transitions. Due to their vital importance, the structures of GroEL and its homologs were

Effectiveness of museum‐based participatory arts in mental health recovery
Abstract The World Health Organization encourages mental health services to adopt a strategic intersectoral approach by acknowledging the potential of the arts and the value of culture on the process of mental health recovery. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of participatory arts in museums on mental health recovery.

Abstract Cell proteostasis includes gene transcription, protein translation, folding of de novo proteins, post‐translational modifications, secretion, degradation and recycling. By profiling the proteome of extracellular vesicles (EVs) from T cells, we have found the chaperonin complex CCT, involved in the correct folding of particular proteins.

Linking small‐scale fisheries co‐management to U.N. Sustainable Development Goals
Abstract Small‐scale fisheries account for 90% of global fishers and 40% of the global catch. Effectively managing small‐scale fisheries is, therefore, crucial to progressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Co‐management and community‐based fisheries management are widely considered the most appropriate forms of governance for ...

Ecosystem CO2 release driven by wind occurs in drylands at global scale
Subterranean ventilation (VE) is a non‐diffusive transport process that provokes the abrupt transfer of CO2‐rich air through water‐free soil pores and cracks from the vadose zone to the atmosphere, under high‐turbulence conditions. This study shows clear empirical evidence of globally occurring VE. To identify VE, we designed an algorithm to detect CO2
