A simple paper-based system for stock management

open access: yesCommunity Eye Health Journal, 2011
The best systems create little extra work for staff and can be implemented almost without thinking in the course of a busy day. The system used in the stock room of our eye clinic in Ivory Coast illustrates this well.

Development of a personalized visualization and analysis tool to improve clinical care in complex multisystem diseases with application to scleroderma

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Background In complex diseases, it is challenging to assess a patient's disease state, trajectory, treatment exposures, and risk of multiple outcomes simultaneously, efficiently and at the point of care. Methods We developed an interactive patient‐level data visualization and analysis tool (VAT) that automates illustration of a scleroderma patient's ...

Multiple mobile operating tables for eye surgery

open access: yesCommunity Eye Health Journal, 2010
High-volume eye surgery requires that patients be moved quickly in and out of the operating room (OR). Static operating tables in the OR make this difficult. Better patient flow can be achieved when using mobile tables, which can be expensive.

Lived and care experiences of chronic musculoskeletal shoulder pain in Australian adults: A qualitative study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives Australian evidence on lived and care experiences of chronic musculoskeletal shoulder pain (CMSP), irrespective of disorder classification or disease, is limited. However, such evidence is important for person‐centred care and informing local service pathways and care guidelines or standards.

Heterogeneity of Rheumatoid Arthritis‐Associated Interstitial Lung Disease by Longitudinal Forced Vital Capacity Trajectory and Associations with Disease Outcomes

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective We aimed to identify unique disease trajectories within rheumatoid arthritis‐associated interstitial lung disease (RA‐ILD) based on longitudinal forced vital capacity (FVC) values and their associated clinical outcomes. Methods We performed a cohort study of RA‐ILD within the Veterans Health Administration from 1999‐2021. RA‐ILD patients were

Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves using machine learning and dynamic mode decomposition

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Summary Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves is investigated through feedforward and recurrent neural networks as well as dynamic mode decomposition. The goal is to predict future ship motion variables based on past data collected on the field, using equation‐free approaches.
