The interrelationship among measures of pure-tone hearing level thresholds was explored to determine if a simple summary statistic could be used to describe hearing sensitivity. Pure-tone thresholds from 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, and 8000 Hz were assessed for 308 observers.
