Zeta functions and Blow-Nash equivalence [PDF]
We propose a refinement of the notion of blow-Nash equivalence between Nash function germs, which is an analog in the Nash setting of the blow-analytic equivalence defined by T.-C. Kuo. The new definition is more natural and geometric.

Convex Relaxation of Optimal Power Flow—Part I: Formulations and Equivalence [PDF]
This tutorial summarizes recent advances in the convex relaxation of the optimal power flow (OPF) problem, focusing on structural properties rather than algorithms. Part I presents two power flow models, formulates OPF and their relaxations in each model,

Homotopical rigidity of polygonal billiards [PDF]
Consider two $k$-gons $P$ and $Q$. We say that the billiard flows in $P$ and $Q$ are homotopically equivalent if the set of conjugacy classes in the fundamental group of $P$ which contain a periodic billiard orbit agrees with the analogous set for $Q ...

Permutation matrices and matrix equivalence over a finite field
Let F=GF(q) denote the finite field of order q and Fm×n the ring of m×n matrices over F. Let 𝒫n be the set of all permutation matrices of order n over F so that 𝒫n is ismorphic to Sn.

Improving Inferences about Null Effects with Bayes Factors and Equivalence Tests.
Researchers often conclude an effect is absent when a null-hypothesis significance test yields a non-significant p-value. However, it is neither logically nor statistically correct to conclude an effect is absent when a hypothesis test is not significant.

Conversion is a highly efficient and economical word-formation process. It has enriched the English vocabulary considerably; however, translators and lexicographers are faced with the challenge of finding suitable translation equivalents.

Determinancy → (observation equivalence = trace equivalence)
If an experiment s is conducted on a parallel process p, then, in general, different processes may result from the experiment, due to the nondeterministic behaviour of p (in the notation of Milner [\textit{R. Milner}, A calculus of communicating systems (1980; Zbl 0452.68027)]:p\(\Rightarrow^{s}p'\) for different p'). Process p is called determinate if

Information Equivalence in Survey Experiments
Survey experiments often manipulate the description of attributes in a hypothetical scenario, with the goal of learning about those attributes’ real-world effects.

Equivalence of restricted Boltzmann machines and tensor network states [PDF]
The restricted Boltzmann machine (RBM) is one of the fundamental building blocks of deep learning. RBM finds wide applications in dimensional reduction, feature extraction, and recommender systems via modeling the probability distributions of a variety ...
