Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Scalable High-Throughput and Low-Latency DVB-S2(x) LDPC Decoders on SIMD Devices

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes are error correction codes (ECC) with near Shannon correction performances limit boosting the reliability of digital communication systems using them.

On maximal synchronous codes

open access: yes, 2003
In this paper, we are interested in maximal synchronous codes. More precisely, we prove that we can embed any synchronous code in a maximal one. Moreover, we establish that, for synchronous codes, the notion of maximality in the family of synchronous ...

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Quasi-cyclic codes with cyclic constituent codes

open access: yes, 2007
Ling and Solé [S. Ling, P. Solé, On the algebraic structure of quasi-cyclic codes I: Finite fields, IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory 47 (2001) 2751–2760] showed that every quasi-cyclic code C is constructed from shorter linear codes which are called the ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Binary Huffman equivalent codes with a short synchronizing codeword

open access: yes
For a given set of codeword lengths, there are many different optimal variable-length codes, which are all Huffman equivalent codes, Some of these codes may contain a synchronizing codeword which resynchronizes the code whenever it is transmitted, The ...

Toward Knowledge‐Based Workflows: A Semantic Approach to Atomistic Simulations for Mechanical and Thermodynamic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Knowledge‐based atomistic workflows are presented for mechanical and thermodynamic properties. By coupling modular simulations with ontology‐aligned metadata and provenance, Fe case studies on elastic behavior, defects, thermal properties, and Hall–Petch strengthening reveal how FAIR, queryable, and reusable simulation data can be generated. Mechanical

Linear codes over F\u3csub\u3eq\u3c/sub\u3e are equivalent to LCD codes for q>3

open access: yes, 2018
\u3cp\u3eLinear codes with complementary duals (LCD) are linear codes whose intersection with their dual are trivial. When they are binary, they play an important role in armoring implementations against side-channel attacks and fault injection attacks ...

Linearity and classification of Z2Z4Z8-linear Hadamard codes

open access: yes
Altres ajuts: acords transformatius de la UABThe Z2Z4Z8-additive codes are subgroups of Z2α1 × Z4α2 × Z8α3. A Z2Z4Z8-linear Hadamard code is a Hadamard code which is the Gray map image of a Z2Z4Z8-additive code.
