Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Functionally graded thick-walled tubes analysis by numerical methods
Functionally graded materials are increasingly used in the practice of engineering design, as is the case with thick-walled tubes. The use of these constructive elements requires a calculation, which should be as accurate, as accessible and as fast as ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A novel concept for evaluating the lightweight design of structural components, named the true lightweight degree, is developed. It is found that traditional lightweight parameters just constitute a lower bound for stiffness-oriented designs. This can be

Numerical Investigation of the Influence of Pulsed Laser Deposited Tin Thin Film Morphology on Deformation Inhomogeneities [PDF]
Investigation of influence of TiN thin film morphology on deformation inhomogeneities is an overall subject of the research. Numerical modelling approach that was selected for the study is based on the digital material representation concept, which gives

The objective of this study is to investigate the synergistic integration of machine learning and evolutionary algorithms for the discovery of equivalent morphologies exhibiting analogous behavior within the domain of composite materials. To pursue this objective, two comprehensive databases are meticulously constructed.

Ductile Failure Prediction of U-Notched Bainitic Functionally Graded Steel Specimens Using the Equivalent Material Concept Combined with the Averaged Strain Energy Density Criterion [PDF]

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Some remarks on materials with memory: heat conduction and viscoelasticity [PDF]
Materials with memory are here considered. The introduction of the dependence on time not only via the present, but also, via the past time represents a way, alternative to the introduction of possible non linearities, when the physical problem under ...
