Stress-Strain Input for Equivalent-Linear Analyses
Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division, 1979The purpose of this technical note is to investigate the sensitivity of computation of the equivalent-linear analysis to the choice of the stress-strain input and to demonstrate the need for care in selecting the correct set of properties. The computer program used in this study is SHAKE and the stress-strain relations considered are the S&I and the H&

Equivalent plastic strain gradient crystal plasticity – Enhanced power law subroutine
GAMM-Mitteilungen, 2013AbstractA gradient crystal plasticity theory is presented including a defect energy based on the gradient of an equivalent plastic strain measure. Preserving the single crystal slip kinematics, the gradient hardening contribution models dislocation long range interactions adding a back‐stress term to the flow rule, similar to other gradient crystal ...

Typical pressure vessel materials' torsion equivalent stress-equivalent strain relationships under large deformation condition are researched in this paper. Because the length and the diameter of the specimen may change under uniaxial tension, it's impossible to make effective measurement and analysis for the mechanical properties of the specimen ...

The equivalence of stress- and strain-based plasticity theories
Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 1997Strain space plasticity theory has been advocated by a number of researchers as a viable alternative to its stress space counterpart. However, there appears to be a certain level of uncertainty about the equivalence of stress- and strain-based plasticity theories.

Equivalent strain and stress history in torsion tests
Steel Research, 1994Bulk and plane torsion tests are being used in industry to determine the flow curve of metals up to very high plastic strains. Despite their wide usage the experimental results obtained in torsion tests are still not being evaluated uniformly. Differences arise basically due to the conversion of the measured angle of twist into the corresponding ...

An Equivalent Strain Approach for Magneto-Elastic Couplings
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2017This paper presents an equivalent strain approach to reduce multiaxial magneto-elastic configurations into 1-D descriptions. It follows similar principles as those used for equivalent stress approaches. The approach can be easily implemented into magneto-elastic constitutive equations using strain as driving mechanical state variable.

Determination of Dynamic Recrystallization Process by Equivalent Strain
2015Based on Tрновский’s displacement field, equivalent strain expression was derived. And according to the dynamic recrystallization (DRX) critical strain, DRX process was determined by equivalent strain. It was found that equivalent strain distribution in deformed specimen is inhomogeneous, and it increases with increasing true strain.

Abstract In this paper, a new method is used to determine the true stress–true strain curve. As this method still makes use of a tensile test, the results are compared with the results obtained with an extensometer on a copper sample for which the strain between the grips is supposed to be homogeneous.
