A Note on Matter Superenergy Tensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We consider Bel-Robinson-like higher derivative conserved two-index tensors $H_\mn$ in simple matter models, following a recently suggested Maxwell field version. In flat space, we show that they are essentially equivalent to the true stress-tensors.

Surface Polishing of an Inconel 625 Bar by a Super-Fast MAF Process for a Solenoid Valve Stem Used in a Hydrogen Tank

open access: yesMetals
This study explores a super-fast magnetic abrasive finishing (MAF) process for polishing the surface of an Inconel 625 bar workpiece for a hydrogen solenoid valve stem.

Response of a nonlinear string to random loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 1959
This paper considers the response of a nonlinear string to random excitation. It is shown that, owing to the additional stress induced by the stretching of the string, the mean squared deflection at every point is smaller than that for the equivalent ...

Seismic resistance capacity on pipe braced supporting frame of spherical tank

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
A significant fire and explosion accident on spherical tanks for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage at Chiba prefecture in Japan were induced by the strong ground motion of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and its aftershock.

Rastall gravity is equivalent to Einstein gravity

open access: yes, 2018
Rastall gravity, originally developed in 1972, is currently undergoing a significant surge in popularity. Rastall gravity purports to be a modified theory of gravity, with a non-conserved stress-energy tensor, and an unusual non-minimal coupling between ...

A higher order control volume based finite element method to prodict the deformation of heterogeneous materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Materials with obvious internal structure can exhibit behaviour, under loading, that cannot be described by classical elasticity. It is therefore important to develop computational tools incorporating appropriate constitutive theories that can capture ...

The Strength Criterion for the Tension Estimation of High-Pressure Apparatus Dies

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2012
During the diamond dust synthesis the most stressed parts of a high-pressure apparatus are dies. They are subjects to all-around nonuniform compression. The criterion for strength estimation of such elements is required with the next conditions: the high-

SOME CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING THE STRENGTH CALCULUS OF A LATHE TOOL [PDF]

open access: yesFiabilitate şi Durabilitate, 2013
In this paper a strength calculus of a lathe tool is made. The main purpose of this study is to determineequivalent stress relations that can be useful for an engineer in the design situation.

Tomography of small residual stresses

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we study the inverse problem of determining the residual stress in Man's model using tomographic data. Theoretically, the tomographic data is obtained at zero approximation of geometrical optics for Man's residual stress model.

Micromechanical response of fibre-reinforced materials using the boundary element technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The Boundary Element Method (BEM) and the Embedded Cell Approach (ECA) have been used to analyse the effects of constituent material properties and fibre spatial distribution on the localised behaviour of a transversely loaded, unidirectional fibre ...
